Not sure if this of interest.

If you want to collect $100, Divide 100 by the horses price and bet that amount

e.g. $3.50 - 100/3.50=28.57 units
$28.57 x $3.50 = $100

If you want to win $100, Divide 100 by horses price-1 and bet that amount

e.g. $3.50 - 100 /(3.50-1) = 100/2.5 = 40
$40 x $3.50 = $140 less $40 = $100
