Interesting addendum from Racing Post:
Ramsden's affairs were in court again in 2008 when City stockbroking firm Hoodless Brennan obtained a High Court judgement against him; he was reported to owe the company more than pounds 1m.
Ramsden will be 60 next year; a third coming would appear unlikely.
He appeared not to believe his own words in that old interview. His demeanor did not evoke confidence at all. Rather a man struggling to recapture past luck.
Luck seemed to play a part in his start and his rise, and ultimately his fall.
Using the oncourse tote to have substantial place and show wagers - the bloke was betting against himself, ruining his own odds.
Full of life and bluster, but by no means an intelligent punter.
