If it's a brand name laptop (or even if it isn't) there is hidden reset partition on the hard drive from where you can do a factory reset. Google the key press sequence you have to use to get to the reset option on start up. It varies from brand to brand. Note that you lose everything!!!!
A system restore should not have a "backup" it simply has a date of the restore point. |
