Mike, yes there are some very shocking trainers out there who will do anything to their horses for a win, note a lot of the latest cases, many are stabled all day and develop weaving, cribbing or windsucking issues. When they are done, they are sent to the auctions and end up at the knackeries.
On the other hand there are many trainers who live for the welfare of their horses and give them the best of everything, even try to find competent and capable homes at the end of their careers. |
