Dolly007,
On midweek races I almost never confirm my bet until the last horse is loaded (ie. about 10 seconds before jump) except if I am betting with bookie. Most of my bets are with TAB via Internet.
I work out my own price on my selections in the race and only bet if TAB price exceeds this by about 20% or more (to allow for errors in my system and the price changes after jump). eg. If I evaluate a horse as a 10% chance of winning then my price is $10 - I will bet if TAB price is $12 or higher.
Good luck.
