The amazing thing about the Mel Cup trifecta is that 12 months ago you would have thought it was an obvious one. Makybe has just one her first one, Vinnie Roe was still winning Irish St. Legers and Zazzman won the Queen Elizabeth Stakes for about its 4th win in a row. Unfortunately its form this year has been woeful with several duck eggs by his name.
