Roddick's big weapons are his serve and his forehand, but on clay they are mostly nullified because the surface is so slow. Supposedly the Spaniards tried to make the court they were playing on as slow as possible to give their clay courters the best chance and looking at the results it worked an absolute treat.

In tennis the surface the events are held on plays a major factor. I find my best results on tennis come around the clay and grass court seasons because some players, no matter how good they are, can't handle the surface.
