I live in Mackay, Brian. I bet at my local Leagues Club which is just around the corner.... or simply over the internet.

Sometimes betting on the net is brilliant (it was the ONLY reason I got a few good winners on one day last week), but sometimes it can be a trap if you're not paying full attention. Yesterday I was hurriedly putting some bets on for the Villiers and I must have put the wrong amount on one of my bets. It always comes up on the screen with the total bet amount and asks you if you want to proceed with your bet. I was obviously in too much of a hurry to see the mistake and clicked proceed. Well, the upshot of all that is that I lost that particular bet and found out after the race, I'd spent $50 on it instead of $5. $45 down the drain. Nasty. So from now on I'm going to try to put my bets on a bit earlier and also make sure I check them first!!!

I finished in front, but thanks to that mistake, not by an awful lot. I certainly don't bet on all the races or all the horses mentioned in my tips. They're just a guide, although once again, just a $1 bet on all of my top 3 picks would have returned a 37% profit (thanks to Volition in Perth which was nice). And I didn't get round to posting any tips for Doomben or Victoria Park yesterday which is a pity because I had Proudly Aggro and Mr Hoover both in my top 3 and a couple of good winners in Adelaide.
