Default System: re pace

This is from sportscolour:

Fisrt 600m was run in 37.17 sec (83.68-46.51) and last 600m was run in 35.42. So yea that was a muddling pace, not slow but. They came home quicker than they went out, as is evidenced by Pray in Vain vying for the lead all the way and winning.

I simply backed Hardy Steele and Pray in Vain straight out (level bet) and boxed them in the quinella (paid $18.10 here)

In regards to pace, the first thing i did was try to gauge the speed in the race and do a crude speed map. the speed was drawn wide and there didn't appear to be a lot. I actually thought Hardy Steele would lead with Ruben on his outside, with Pray in Vain stalking the pace on the fence, Pink Fit on his outside.

I had a few queries regarding a few of these runners and was confident one of my top 2 would win. Ruben worried me turning for home, but he ended up being suspect at 1400m. Obviously i wish races panned out like that more often

Here are my pre-race thoughts
