Personally, I like to concentrate on the best quality races and usually 1400m+. That means I normally rate no more than about 3 races on an average day and no more than about 10 or so on a Saturday. Any more than that would be too time consuming for me. I didn't like the quality of today's racing, so I didn't rate any races at all today.

Gday Sportz,

I love the pensioners... Raminco... what an old warrior.. and at 8 bucks tyvm..

To your question... First starters, If I can find something going for them I will score them well... breeding, stable jockey that kind of thing. I think I only rated one today (There may have been a couple early on in Victoria ) and that was A Catbird.. ridden by Robbo... leave it out at your peril (in the Coalfields) ... even tho it didnt fire a shot..

As for rating races..
I think we can get a bit precious, for want of a better word, when it comes to racing. To me backing, Raminco this arvo at 8 bucks put the same amount of money that a Gr1 winner at 8 bucks would put in my pocket. The 8 buck Gr1 Winner would probably be harder to find..

There were 30 races around the country today... that means there are 30 Winners to be found.. if you look at the 4 metros (not counting Perth) there are usually 32 winners to be found on a Saturday, and to my mind the winners are harder to find on a Saturday, much more competitive racing... I seem to go way better at country and prov meetings than sat metro.. All thisn is just my opinion..
