I wish I had taken more notice of the preview from Craig Tompson of Racenet and BetBusters:
"Shamekha has been building up to a huge first-up performance. She's been one of the best workers at Randwick for a couple of months now and wouldn't have been out of place, or without a winning chance, had she resumed a month or more ago. Gai Waterhouse has targeted the T J Smith Stakes with her though and she is right at her peak. The problems however come with Fastnet Rock, Alinghi and rain. The first two are the best sprinters in the land and the latter is something she has not been able to overcome under race conditions to date. Those negatives are also obvious to the bookies though and she's going to be quite big odds. You could do a lot worse if you're looking for something at good value."
