4.00PM AEST - Cranbourne R7 No2 Mr Big - 1.5% Win - On paper this looks a a race in 2 to the naked eye between Dawsons Road and Mr Big and hopefully this will create a good value factor about Mr Big with Dawson's Road being overbet. Decided to lean towards Mr Big who is lightly raced winning 2 of last 3 career starts including last start Yarra Glen 1950m Class 1 over smart Redoute's Choice youngster Mint Royal. Will apreciate the step to 2025m and likely to get the run of the race under a slow tempo on pace. The query is likely to come from Isle Of Kriska who has weight lines to suggest on wins last preperation is well weighted here today and can figure at odds but needs to improve on last 2 starts. Mr Big is in form, is well placed and is likely to get the run of the race which should be enough to get it home.
4.30PM AEST - Tamworth R8 No2 Irish Loup - 2.0% Win - Irish Loup shapes as one of the bigger certainties of the day in this 1200m Class 6 sprint and is well worth waiting for. Last start went to town and finished 2.7l 4th of 7 against stronger over 1200m. Two starts back ran sensational time winning over 1000m at Dubbo in Class 6 company and that franked form of big win 3 back also running sensational time over 950m when 1st up at Dubbo aswell. By good sire Loup Savage and is well drawn to get a good run over the suitable 1200m trip. The query is Ettaleo who beat Aszraq and Chester County last start but he may have been flattered by the pace and margin of the win. Irish Loup proven and well placed to atone for last start defeat here today.
4.40PM AEST - Cranbourne R8 No2 Ancient Urge - 2.0% Win - Very hard to dismiss the chances of Ancient urge who is 2nd up from a spell here. 1st up was over unsuitable 1200m trip and finished 3.1l 6th to Sir Clement. Go back 5 runs to big win over 1400m Ballarat Class 1 by 4 lengths over Honest Polly with big margins back through the field. Led that day and got headed before kicking away to win with ease. Franked that big win 2 back before spelling winning again M Valley 1600m R1mw3yo, forget 2 runs inbetween. Likely to get the run of the race from the 1 alley and with a superior turn of foot after a good trip at a even to solid tempo will close off better than these and win. The query will come from Otto Mezzmer who is a wet tracker but 1st up may lack the fitness required to see this out. Ancient Urge very good value winning chance considering high confidence level in this field.
4.50PM AEST - Rockhampton R8 No8 Man Of Illusion - 2.5% Win - Hatd to go past the chances of the lightly raced improver and werll bred Man Of Illusion here. Very well bred by Encosta De Lago and is 3rd up nowe for leading mentior John Wigginton. Won only two start this area including last start 1200m Rocky Class 1 by 4.8 lengths over crossing and Mr Amore. Form references through Fourjacks and Crossing suggests Man Of Illusion still holds a 1 length advantage over Kai Cibo the big query runner and also has a fitness edge. 1200m will`definitely suit and should secure one of the better runs in the race proving hard to hold out.
