I tend to be on a different type of elimination line. I only assess Saturdays and Public Holidays and I don't eliminate any race out of hand immediately because of any of those factors mentioned, ie: distance, race type.
I instead do some assessment on each race with no more than 14 runners and then see if my ratings will stand out 2 or 3 from the rest of the field.
I think as some people on this forum have said before, they have just as much luck finding winners in the lowest class of race. They all pay the same.
My only criteria is that the field is not more than 14 runners as my stats have revealed that selecting winners in these races is much harder.
Fining down a field to where you can identify just 2 or 3 chances is the biggest task and from four states may only give you 3-5 races in a day but zeroing in on them and not only getting the winner but going with multiples as well is the go.
Always looking for a different angle to look at it.
