Okay, because this was a bit of a last minute decision, we'll just have a practice run this week to see how we go. I want to give as many people as possible a chance to get involved, so we'll get started officially next week.

Tips to be posted by midnight tonight. Post your top 3 selections + 1 reserve selection in case of scratchings. The reserve selection will only be counted if one of your top 3 is scratched. If you can, try to post the names of the horses as well as numbers, so we cut down on any mistakes.

Points will be allotted on a 3,2,1 basis to find the consensus of all tipsters. It will be interesting to see what we come up with. Individually, tipsters will be scored in two ways. Firstly, on the basis of how high up they find the winners in their tips and how much they pay. If you tip the winner on top and it pays $15, you would get $45 (3 x 15) but if you tip the winner 3rd and it pays $2.20, you'll only get $2.20 (1 x 2.20). Just think of it as having $3 on your top pick, $2 on your 2nd pick and $1 on your 3rd pick. Secondly, I will also keep a record of the best strike rates.

I will also score our consensus tips on the same basis to see how well we go as a group. As Duritz suggested, we could perhaps work out some best bets and multiples each week based on the tipsters poll picks.
