Doomben thoughts....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I might add a few of my doomben thoughts for tomorrow...

Race 1 - I think Crystal Wit might be the way to go here. If she can return to near her best from Melbourne, she'll be very tough to beat. Yubi must be a chance also (with a better trip than last time) after the good win on the wet 2 back. Mr Tibula isn't the worst fresh, either.

Race 2 - This is a raffle. Any of them could win (save a couple of the emergencies). I ended up with Socialist, fitter after the 1st up run and is drawn to get a reasonable run behind what seems to be a hot pace. I liked the only run of the first emergency Sleek Repeat, where it nearly nailed subsequent town winner, Bold Sequalo (admittedly, giving it a few kilos). The two Webb runners are also hopes with the speed on.

Race 3 - Don't know. These 3yo's are a pretty even bunch. Maybe Learned Leo over Hard To Catch and Caffe Francais, who seems to put in some good runs at this track. Back em at your own peril, though

Race 4 - We Can't Say That here. Improving staying mare with no weight (as opposed to Desert Flight) and on pace. I think she can beat Desert Flight, the weight might tell in the last 100m and Crimson Gown a chance for a place.

Race 5 - I like Carolina's Boy. Back to the 1000m suits and can run good times. Levante gets conditions to suit here and can figure from the 1 with top jock and Nessuno for the place. Just think he's a risk coming back to the 1000.

Race 6 - Throw a dart. Maybe Shakespearian at nice odds, but i don't muchly care for the race.

Race 7 - Imperialism should win this. If he reproduces the run 2 back, i think he's a bit too strong. The 1666 was too far last time but back to the 1350 with the good alley.....yea, he'll do fine. If theres not much pace, Road To Heaven and Kanes Crossing are chances also. Little Punc is a money muncher so i refuse to put him in - he may win, but i've found its more profitable to leave him alone.

Race 8 - Not the greatest race to finish on, but i like Grab The Phone at around the $6 or $7 mark. He'll be on pace, and hopefully won't get pressured much during the race. Hoofer and Yukon Pride are chances aswell. Hoofer can put in a good one here and there and Yukon Pride has been racing consistently lately.

Best is probably Imperialism with the best roughie Caffe Francais,

Good luck with whatever you wager on tomorrow...

Sven

Hi Sven ..thought i might put your post over in this Thread or else people might miss it....weird we both mention Cafe Francis at 50's ..even XPT has it rated highly....Carolinas Boy is gaining momentum ,,wont be any flash odds i think....

News Flash !!
Heard on the grape vine Grab the Phone pulled up badly last start..the run was a real gutbuster ,,he might be alitle flat today and from the barrier the early work might take its toll...
will leave him alone today and concentrate on Tycoon Rose , Prophet Jewel and Twanged..
ps..(probably win by 5 lengths now) but just incase will have him in my tris..
