Thanks for all that Punter57, very logical and seems to be very true in practice. Another trend I notice is if there is a short price favorite, i.e. less than $2.00 the second favorite seems to come in at the last moment as the shortie sometimes lengthens. Maybe the last minute punters are put off by such a short priced horse and go for the second chance.

Maybe the degree in psychology wouldn't be a waste after all. :-)
