Hey Mav, back for another week....
Race 1 - Dont know whether Umaprince will be running, with no jockey listed in my form guide...which confuses matters. Having said that i just think Amused is too good for them. Good win last time in very smart time. Geeteehaycho is an improver coming through the grades and could measure up here. Kanes Crossing a good place chance if Umaprince isn't running - those 2 are the only natural leaders.
Race 2 - On paper, Emit Time looks too good. Will be far too short for me, and i've just got a niggling doubt about how forward he'll be considering he's going down south later on. For that reason, i'll be looking at Blarney Wish and maybe the first starter, Sammys Illusion, as E/W hopes. Too many chances here for me to be confident though...
Race 3 - The top 2 should produce the winner. Spur Me On was brilliant last time around Doomben and if he repeats that he'll nearly win. Can carry weight and run time, so the 58.5 holds no fears. The only concern is if there are other horses trying to cut at him. Past Tense, Scottish Reaver and Canadian Shuffle can all go forward when they want to and if they pressure Spur Me On, Black Ink will be the one closing late. No flash odds about either, but i think they're a bit better than the rest.
Race 4 - Eep. No idea. Formlines everywhere, a true raffle. If i was forced to pick a couple, maybe Personal Look and Baci...both have form that reads OK for a race like this - theyve drawn well too. NEXT!
Race 5 - I can't see any noted speed here, but my latest attempts at speed prediction have fallen flat.....which means that they'll probably go helter skelter
Tackman seems to be nearing a win, has been running consistently well of late. Just a little concern on whether he's a winner or not. Navajo Code was a nice run last time and will improve on that here. Lymadicus showed improvement last time and might be a place chance at odds.
Race 6 - Bit of pace here, which will suit Sir Mukafast. Should get a nice run midfield behind a good speed and K.Pope is riding in good form. Nothing wrong with Shysu's win last time, Eagle Farm is a different story though, and Road To Heaven won't give Shysu any rest either. The old bloke Devil is there too...
Race 7 - Step Ahead has to be close to a win. Has been finishing off his races really well lately....as he did last prep before the win over 1600m at this track. Given the way he is racing now, the 1800 should hold no fears with some speed on. Devastating is the classy runner, match fitness is the concern though (along with the win rate). Republic generally prefers it wet, but might improve tomorrow with the extra journey.
Race 8 - Wow. Tough one to finish on. Cupboard has a great record. Has run some hot times for a young horse over 1200m, the 1000m is an unknown though. The good draw will help and does excel fresh. Our Bullion at big odds isn't hopeless. He has form around horses like Neng Rain and Persuades which isn't bad for this sort of event. Brebeaudan Lad has run some nice races in and around the place aswell. Plenty of speed here, and as always with these big fields, barriers will play a major role..
Best tomorrow is Spur Me On with a good rough chance to Our Bullion.
Good luck with your bets tomorrow...
