It turned out I was dead right about Star Shiraz [big flop] in the Pink Slipper. When I went to bet my selection Fiery Sunset it was scratched, so I went for my 2nd. pick that I thought was set for the race and peaked nicely last week, Star of Asia. With a name like that, I thought it would handle the hot weather just fine :-)

No worries, Crash. Star of Asia and Chasin Tail have been very impressive lately in Bribane and I believe that Mesmerising which finished second in its race will most likely be going to Melbourne next year. Star Shiraz finished fourth in the race after jockey Glen Colless reported that the horse stumbled at the top of the straight where she lost her momentum. Star Shiraz was two lengths off the winner and will still head to Melbourne. I fancied Remmla in the 2yo's and won and paid $26.
