First of all we get a dart board.
And because the system will be confined to greyhound win betting,The dartboard is divided up into 8 equal parts numbered from 1 to 8.
What we need to do is to increase the area occupied by the dogs with the greater chances.

ENTER RATINGS!
Let the fastest dog around be called "THE FASTEST DOG AROUND".He has run the fastest time ever recorded at the distance. It gets a rating of ZERO.
All other dogs are rated in margins beaten by THE FASTEST DOG AROUND.
They are calculated by subtracting their best time from our record setters time and multiplying by 16.
Now we have a way of comparing dogs ability against each other.
But of course dogs don't always run to their best time so we penalize our dog for things like...
Poor recent form.Box draw.Consistency.

Fast times from over year,or ten starts ago won't be used as the rating.
Penalties will be added to poor box draw.
Inconsistent dogs are usually clumsy.

Then we convert our modified ratings into percentages and set up our dartboard with the appropriate sized areas...and fire away!
