I have that feeling of optimistic enthusiasm today. Lots of big fields all harbouring potential long priced winners. Our two major characteristics as punters - optimism and resilience.

(I like Jim Killen's description of all the discarded losing tickets lying around or flying around a racetrack when the final race has been run...'the litter of optimism'.)
