Box 1st Split Rating Rank
1 $6.93 4 2 $7.78 5 3 $37.88 8 4 $5.26 2 5 $6.17 3 6 $28.99 7 7 $4.68 1 8 $9.98 6 very even for early speed in this race. Box Payoff Rank 1 $3.72 1 2 $12.48 6 3 $28.90 8 4 $8.51 3 5 $9.00 5 6 $17.41 7 7 $4.64 2 8 $8.72 4 The last start win of the #7 was a highly unusual time, looked like they clocked the Hare. If the #1 could lead it would be closer to evens in this, the two hard dogs to get lines thru 2 & 4 |

I think you are making exactly the same mistake I was making when I first started messing with Greyhounds.
When you do the ratings , the better performed animals appear at the top. But you must learn how to differentiate between top rating Stayers and top rating Sprinters. Like - When Stayers in horses roll up to prepare for their Spring Campaign in Sprint races , how do you stop them from being the top Raters in 1200 metre Races? Whatever you do , you need to learn to do similar when Greyhounds are in the wrong distance race. The example i notes yesterday was IRON BRIAN. I also had it up top when the Computer spat out the ratings , but I adjusted it to out the gate because I was pretty sure the distance was way too short. |

Yep, i hear ya.
At the moment the ratings are purely what the spreadsheet spits out, there is no analytical input. I consider them like base ratings only, I've got a ******** of a way to go before I start to analyse dogs & races. I admit I do have a bit of a feel for horses, know when the top rated on numbers is a good lay, etc. Still I have enjoyed the last week, something completely different. I didn't even study the Sat races. Just backed by system bets & traded a no risk $300. |
