Default Good Betting and Racing Guide

I recently came upon the booklet, The Good Betting and Racing Guide by Malcolm Knowles. Looks like it was published in 1994.

Was wondering if anyone else had got it, used it and what were your opinions, good, bad, some use, invalid etc ?

Thanks, Peter

I have it somewhere.
I am a great fan of Malcolms Knowles research and have most of his research findings.

Cheers

I have something similar, Horse Race Betting and Selecting 1994 by Warren Block and Successful Race Betting and Staking by The Dean, John Maloney.

All good stuff and forgot the number of times I've read them cover to cover.

Never made any money out of the theory though, I can tell you!

Making money consistently, came years later, after abandoning all that logical thinking and adopting Laying?

Thanks for the replies guys.

Yes Rinconpaul the theories seem logical enough and maybe therein lies the problem as, because it's all based on commonly known factors, API, barrier draws, days last run etc every other man and his dog will most likely be all over that too.

I've not looked at laying but after reading about it here it sounds a bit complicated.

How right you are with the first para Peter. Although, there currently is and probably always has been a huge percentage of punters who are like one of my sons? Texts me last night, " It's my turn in the punters club Dad, here's my selections, I'll be workin' tomoz, so can you let me know how they went?"
Well they went no good, got a place out of 5 selections and lost $80.
These sort of punters aren't reading zip about any betting selection methods. Bookies luv em!

As for the second para in your post, keep thinking that way LOL

Ha ha, well that's pretty logical thinking on your part Riconpaul. One day I may 'threaten' to investigate laying.

I usually just shake my head, but I just have to say: I'm thinking in terms of 1000 selections, not just 5 or 6 that just happen to fall on one particular day. a tiny example....... 5 losers followed by "HAZARD" = good profit!!

Believe it or not the Dean is still peddling his tips on another forum. He calls himself Dean John now and is an expert on Hong Kong racing. I didn't know he'd written a book but I always thought him a much better salesman than form analyst/ tipster.
