Ripped Off

You've given yourself an apt name.
105 bets @ $100 per bet = $10500
Strike rate @ 93% = 97 returns (rounded down)
Average div $1.60.

97 x $160 = $15520 less $10500 outlay = $5020 profit, yet you only quote $692 profit??

I'm confused. Not having a go, because if you're making $692 p/w, not many can match that.

Mark,
Do you know of any site that has fixed odds for a place (aussie races 7 days).
I have just researched something for the last six months and looks brilliant.
Big problem being I wont be able to put a decent bet on for a place midweek on the tab otherwise will kill the price.

Any help is appreciated and we might be able to get better than a skateboard

Cheers

Kenchar

Betfair operate a place market on most races these days. Somtimes you can get what appears to be huge value, other times worse than the TAB's. The problem is that some markets have very little interest so you might be able to get set a t a fair price, but only for peanuts. Just as an aside, I made a book on the Melbourne Cup, to run in the first 4, at 410% without laying every runner. Just needed 1 unknown to get in there, and it did, it ran 2nd.

Like the place bet myself --- and I would like it even more if I could get percentages like that, Ripped Off. However my maths says the same as Mark's! Any enlightenment???

Hi Kenchar,

it's not fixed odds, but I believe that DialABet offer best Tote + 5c for the place. I don't know if they cover all race meetings, but this particular offer for the place sounds pretty damn good.... I've noticed that the place dividend between the states can be quite significant at times.

Cheers,
Chris.

Ripped Off

If you have a consistent strike rate of 93% why not try all-ups, say for a series of 5 or 6 bets. 6 places up, at $1.40 = $7.50.
Or even a series of series', say 2 up, 3 up, 4 up, 5 up, 6 up etc. With your strike watch your bank grow.
