This weeks punt to win has a rant about why all horses often ease in the betting.
I would go further than this and say that the bookies are too lazy to do the form! That's why they set the opening books to over 140%. Then they just let all the horses drift acording to what's bet.
This is a good thing for smart punters. If the bookies did the form and set truer odds in their opening books, there would be far fewer opportunities to back horses paying overs.

Hello Pengo,
I certainly agree with you. It is good for punters if bookies do not do the form.
But if markets are set to huge percentages maybe they do not need to do any form.
I agree with what Pro-Punter said in their "Punt to Win'. Any bet then is most likely a long term losing bet. The example they gave with roulette at the casino was brilliant.
I know it's a pretty simple example, but if I offer you 4/1 about picking any number from 1 to 6 on the throw of a dice I do not have to do any form either. I must be a long term winner.
See you later.
Mr. Logic
