How's Betfair goin?
Not too shabby, according to the boss:
Betfair Boss Breon Corcoran Receives a £10 Million Bonus British Gambling Industry Generates £7.1bn Revenues The chief executive of Betfair, Breon Corcoran, received an £11.6 million package last year thanks to a £10 million bonus agreed upon when he joined the online gambling giant three years ago. Corcoran’s £10.1 million windfall was awarded in shares and is in addition to his £953,000 bonus and £528,000 salary. The former Paddy Power Chief Operation Officer earned £1.3 million the previous year and a staggering £11.6 million when this golden hello was awarded. When Corcoran joined Betfair from Paddy Power in August 2012, signed a deal that would pay him the huge amount Betfair met three financial performance targets. Two of those targets were reached, but the third removed at a shareholder meeting in January. Betfair informed shareholders that the third target was introduced by an administrative error. 99.8% of investors agreed to the removal of the third threshold at a shareholder meeting. The London Stock Exchange listed company has transformed under Corcoran’s guidance with UK customer numbers increasing by 250% and the share value increasing from approximately £750 million to more than £2.4 billion. Historically, Betfair was a betting exchange but has developed a traditional bookmaking that is now flourishing. Morgan Stanley analysts state this new bookmaking business is already taking £1.2 billion worth of bets, almost as much Ladbrokes customers stakes last year at £1.3 billion. In June 2015, Betfair announced it was to increase investor’s dividends by 70% following “an excellent year.” Betfair reported operating profit of £94.3 million (up 53% on the previous reporting period) a figure aided by its betting exchange having a turnover of £55.3 billion and new customers increasing to 1.7 million (an increase of 52%). courtesy Poker News |

Look it's a juxtaposition to my first post but it's the opposite of the spectrum, so possibly relevant?

Time for remenising about how far this punters game has come, hey? Bookies making $20 mill in bonuses, punters hitting the bottom with alcohol and drug abuse, Puntz technologically challenged trying to place a $1 bet, can't watch live VIC races anymore....it just goes on

Read the # update, ! the bet went on ! 2nd try. That moment, I *knew*, 15 seconds of silence beyond the beyond after the 3rd script, THE bet sender script !!! Script 1, Activated, as expected Script 2, Activated, as expected and Script 3eeee, sends 1 whole real test dollar there was this charactelistacly unusual silence of the pc !, I honestly thought it has memory overload, it froze, or I froze, but I knew the tweak here and there, what else could be WRONG ! 15 seconds of the "unknown". Then, all of a sudden, there was movement, the PC got normal again, mouse button worked, these black dos screens went away, " was it an alien ?" Wait, I'll check, check account balance. Still the same, check again, same balance, " why is my account balance not less by $1.00 ??? Then, one more refresh, Voila, it wasn't aliens !! It was the bet sender, it worked ! I am down one happy real test dollar. Now, all I gotta do, is win it back ! It never ends |

It never ends, it just goes on... Well done Puntz, you've perservered, you've overcome, and it's all ahead of you! A success story, no matter how small, remember the butterfly effect: Chaos theory is the field of study in mathematics that studies the behavior of dynamical systems that are highly sensitive to initial conditions—a response popularly referred to as the butterfly effect! |

Credits due though RP, jazzy not least of all, the forum.
yeah, However, Win10 release is just around the corner, I'm sensing though, many PC desktops running XP may not work. ya see, if ya have IE6, and Excel VBA, it won't do certain stuff. TAB insist must have minimum IE8 for Excel to work. So the goal post may be changed yet again, but this time I got over the line before they changed. Point is, no matter what the change is this time round, the project I hope can adapt without too much hassle with the upgrade from XP to whatever. Linux has come a long way to, this WINE, (I think) Distro can run Office, just skim reading here and there. All this stuff, technical is a hinderence to the end game and that is to calculate a wiining bet before the race starts and have the bet sent, the "edge to the edge" is a hands free method. Not that I'm lazy, other things need to get done to. I never ever in my wildest punting journey have I fathomed one has to be somewhat as savvy with all this stuff as I and many others on the punt have arrived to, and it keeps evolving at times to utter nonsense for one, intricately profitable for another. ( One man's junk and another man's treasure principle). Or, A school of Champion Poker players playing in a Grand Final. They surely once weren't tree loggers who one day decided to go to the paper mill with a whole tree to make paper so it be printed to a deck of cards, then build a casino !? Surely not. They have an edge, they have a tool to play that edge, a deck of cards. Same with racing software, it's an edge to play the edge. It seems though one has to make and stack their own cards. Butterflies and quantum physics ? That gust of wind before your winning horse gets it, and loses by a nose, blame the butterfly ? Last edited by Puntz : 25th July 2015 at 09:10 PM. |

Closed for the second time in a moth!
Seriously, the amount of errors in information, basic spelling, etc. is becoming ludicrous. These are supposed to be digital media versions of newspapers. It's obvious nobody edits or proof reads anything anymore. We all make mistakes, but these are supposed to be professional journos!
