Default Doomben Saturday

Hard not to be excited about Sydney tomorrow buts theres other races around..a good track tomorrow thank god especially after last weeks misery..

Race 1.
The blinkers on Heartbreak Pass should do the trick here...ran around a bit last start and stargazed..will be better for the outing...Heinrichs other runner is worth a look also the wellbred Amarnthine who was given a very easy trial..She's starting to develope a real good stable..i'll be looking at these 2.

Race 2.
What do i do about Abu..was on him the last couple and hes hiting the line but not very convincingly...doesnt get the speed he needs here if they ride him the same...no real front runners at all in this race..I'd be thinking Milady Clang will lead this field and if she gets it her own way up front shes hard to run down..especially at Doomben...Ancient King looks to be getting the gun again and doesnt have to do much different than last start to win this..I cant get Abu Simbel out of my mind though..the horse has a bit of class and with Colless on board i'm hoping that they ride him alittle different...i'd be improving before the turn and letting him surge into the race,,his last couple of starts he hasnt had that sprint that he usually shows but has wound up nicely..obviously the trainer has bigger plans for him soon over distance....Colless the key here and with alot of people potting him i'll get a price
(I can be a bit forgiving at times so i might need someone to talk me out of it ..)

Race 3.
Alot of talk about this Northerner Scandal Park ..he'll be in this race because he should be able to race forward and can run some time....I'm a Flickn Spin fan..did nothing last start but did cop it at the start and it unsettled him..Cahill will get him nice and relaxed from the better draw and will get the tempo to suit.....dont see much else in the race...Jesters Dance the next best..

RAce 4.
I was on Socialist last start and it was given no chance at all..did hit the line very well though..I like the Jockey change..i said after last start,,,back him from a better alley and with a better jockey..he atleast gets the better jockey..(I'm guessing Katsidis gets his stay of proceedings) but he again has no luck with the barriers.....i like the extra 150m and i dont really rate the rest of the field... The big easy with the colless factor the danger as is the toppy....confident Socialist can get the prize here..

Race 5.
What a race..Hard tip against Any Suggestion..was only in 2nd gear last start...Algorithm with the freshn is right in this race and the Southerner Forestreno will be running on.....Any Suggestion to hit the front beating off Bold Matador with Algo and Forestreno taking off together to chase him down....but dont forget Dont Tell tom has speed aswell but i'm prepared to risk him until i see him..
fantastic race but i think Any Suggestion will pinch it but i doubt any value.
Algo if he gets to 7 or 8's might be a better bet e/w

Race 6.
Been a fan of Umatrick for ages..this is his race...wont get a price but the horse looks the best bet of the day...flew home last start the freshn suits the distance suits and the likely tempo.....thought Tellem would run a good race also...Stathi will try and get the lead but even if he doesnt he should get the sit behind Umaprince and Viscay Star....
I like Umatrick..been a good honest horse and looks to have comback this prep as good as ever..

Race 7.
The Hotpot Devils Inside gets to show what shes all about here...some real good horses in this race and none better than Star Of Asia..she'll get the good run and is proven against quality...Devils inside has enough speed to get a good run here and might even sit just behind Alegro who looks the leader....I'll be on Star Shiraz with the experience... with Devils who wont have it all her own way against this lot just behind with La Montagna and Dont tell Clang running on,,...Marikal at odds a chance to sneak a place..

Race 8.
Canadian Shuffle bombed the start last start,,,the horse looked real good though so i'm giving her another chance.likes the track,,.looks the leader or close to it and will be in it for along way...San fransisco the danger..very consistant and did very well to be in it last start after racing wide,,

Best Bets. Umatrick, Socialist, Canadian Shuffle, Star Shiraz

Good Luck Guys....big trifecta day today always good pools around on Slipper day..

Hopefully Sven and Classiconi is around to offer a few comments....anyone else whos finished the Sydney form study and has had a look at Brissie is more than welcome..

Hey Maverick, thought u fell off the planet aint posted for a few days :P As always your contributions are much appreciated and when you have a bad day so do i lol

Yeah look Im still getting a feel for reading into form, but ill share what i have to offer for Sydney -

Race 1 - Hard to fault Evasion, great record at this track, hawkes + beadman combo, over the odds imo, men at work, cash carter and but im serious to fight it out for the minor places.

Race 2 - King Rex does his best work 2nd up and could spring a surprise in this one, likes the track and has won this distance, ran well first up, 4th all the way.Mustard and snippetson will be there, prepared to write strada off as he has drawn wide, throw leno in the mix as well.

Race 3 - A toss up, another race with many possibilities, Manton and Sepia in there, big eagle the longshot.

Race 4 - Serenade Rose is faultless, no value in backing her but exotics may be within reach with star mystic and falsetto to run a god race.

Race 5 - Eremein, Railings, Smoking Joe, Kindjhal or Aqua Damore for fourth.

Race 6 - Anyones pick, i would probably pick lad of the manor, with paratroopers and gods own next.

Race 7 - Miss Finland

Race 8 - Regal Cheer has been superb and totally underrated, will be followed by lotteria, mnemosyne and Johan's Toy.

Race 9 - Mahtoum, mindreader and sporstman to fight it out.

Thats lot harder than i thought it would be, took me an hour!

good luck all

yep...i like to ride the rollercoaster ..plenty of ups...but plenty of downs aswell..but i usually get off feeling pretty good most of the time
I'm back down south so i'm away from my beloved Brissie..my last big go for awhile so i'm having big one....
Sydney
Race 1,
I liked Men at work ..thought his run was to bad to be true last start..just didnt handle the track at all..working well since then ..looks good to me
Race 2,
I thought Snippetson a good chance here,,,has a touch of class and has finally got a good track..not a hard race for him...
Race 3.
Didnt rate this race ..but Manton at this distance is worth a e/w..
Race 4.
Not convinced about Serenade Rose..first run the other way and way to short,,,not really confident to back anything else in the race either.....maybe Flora Danica e/w if i'm having a good day..
Race 5.
I like Railings here but it wont be easy..Eremein will be hard to beat as will Lachlan River..Danny will be riding him with somethiing to prove as hes lost the mount in the Cup.. box these 3..
Race 6.
Dance Hero..better on top of the ground gets the lead and will dictate.Vroom will get lost around Rosehill...i like the value i should get as everyone will be on Para..
Race 7.
Boomtime ..i like the form , i like her last run and the barrier and jock..should get a good run ..Miss finland the big danger....these 2 and go wide for 3rd and 4th
RAce 8.
Lotteria will be to good,,gets the lead and will pinch it..
Race 9
Fighting Fund the improver...nice e/w odds..

Adelaide,
Baraba Road
Gold Coast,
Kantoshi Millions
Melbourne,
Merlot Now (Cant help myself..hopefully he leaves the barrier this time..but not on the slow)
Bush,
Strawbery Spy , One Pound Six

G'day Mav

I had a quick look at them, not a bad day. Big fields should ensure some value .

Race 1 - You'd think that Ascendant is the one here. Good win at EF last time, not bad time, good alley, good jockey. Will be short, but shouldn't be far off them. Divinity Dash was heavily backed last time, when rearing at the start. So i'm prepared to give her another go, especially with the claim. Attemptation, well you gotta give her a show simply because the trainer has been winning everything of late.

Race 2 - Pretty ordinary. Experience ran sensational time at the coast last time out, but i'm not convinced about him being able to put 2 together. Oliver's Magic isn't the most reliable horse either, but with the good alley today and the 1600m, i think he can go close. Fair Ace has been running in great form, but the alley from this start is a nightmare. Mr Lister will be running on as usual, he just can't win.

Race 3 - Rapid reason isn't the worst here. This race he contested last time was infinitely better than this one and he only finished 3 lengths off them. He'll do me at this stage. Absolom seems to save his best for the Gold Coast but he has got talent and if he puts his best foot forward, can win. No doubt about that. Sunlady can improve at odds aswell, from the good alley and on top of the ground.

Race 4 - Pretty tough race. I've stuck with Bold Reason. He's the class of the field and will get a good run. The Big Easy, with the inside alley, is a huge danger though. Has run some quality races in and around town and won't be far off today. Socialist is a chance, but i get the feeling the horse needs the EF straight. That being said, if they go helter skelter up front, that brings Socialist right into it, having that great finishing burst.

Race 5 - Any Suggestion, Algorithm and Bold Matador.

Race 6 - Having seen that every man and his dog will be on Umatrick, i've gone searching for some value. I didn't have much luck. I guess Tellem can bounce back. The win 2 back was sensational, don't know what happened in the Weetwood but this isn't all that strong, so he can go close again. Umatrick is a chance for sure, especially after the huge race he ran at the Coast. Umaprince has always had ability, they just need to get him to the lead. If they do that, he has got a big chance.

Race 7 - Devil Inside has done nothing wrong. She has got the speed to be able to cross (coupled with a great jockey) and has been running great times. The 1200m is the only doubt, but she was strong on the line the other day, so i dont see that as a problem. La Montagna has good ability and can swamp them at the end, if the leaders go hard. The alley is a drawback though. Prang, at the bottom, isn't hopeless either. The horse has ability and from a reasonable alley, can put in a good showing.

Race 8 - Not a great one to finish on, but eh. San Franfrisco doens't win out of turn, but is as honest as they come. Has a lot of placings, and never seems to get much betting attention. Doonan Dancer can run OK while fresh here, he will go forward and try to dictate. Grand Lover can run home hard too, if they go close out in front.

Good luck everyone,

Sven

Stathi not riding...though i dont mind the stronger rider Robbo on Socialist looks even better to me..
Colless on Tellem brings him right into this race....still like umatrick but Svens right i doubt a price on him..
Star of Asia scratched...Makes Devils Inside look pretty good..LA Montagna and Happier close up....doesnt look any value though because she'll be short...thought Frisco agogo a live place chance in great form and as honest as they come...
I really like the Frisco Views..great bread n Butter horses..winners all over the place from ordinary mares aswell...one of the best value sires in Qld,,

A bit of late mail..Dacapo at MV apparently will be winning by lengths..a good source said hes flying and is super fit....will have to have something on..

Good luck guys today

thx for the tips Mav. have had no time to do any form myself recently. I'll be on Socialist (tri race with Beecad & Hayil's in it), Flick n Spin, Canadian Shuffle (Uma looks too short), Da Capo & Lotteria.

Im also on Dream Ballard at his odds, a tri in Lotteria's race banking her with Star Shiraz around others. An interest bet on Empires Choice in the Slipper. Looks one a roughie could steal given its possibly the least brilliant bunch of 2yo's in years.

Hi Guys ...wow what a day had a bet in every race in Brissie and every race in Sydney ..one in Adelaide and the Coast, 2 in Melbourne ,2 in Taree ..

a big day for me..and a big result ..

Started the day well with Men at Work and then Snippetson (biggest result of the day) everything was just going nuts .Strawbery Spy , MAnton ..the exacta 25x in the 1st in Brissie....had bets in 6 races with only Abu Simbel the loser...never really intended to back every race but after that start i sort of got caught in the moment..(yes very silly i still lack alittle discipline)

Brissie
R1, went the exacta here with Heartbreak pass and the Fav ..not a bad result but would have been better if Heartbreak had hung on..
R2, Abu had every chance..just hasnt got that sharp sprint..Colless gave him the perfect run
R3,FlicknSpin..donkey did nothing,,
R4,Socialist...task was just to hard...i'm waiting for the good barrier now ..but then he'll win at odds on..
R5,Great result ...exacta ,place, and the tri...finally something to cheer about...great when the race pans out exactly like it should..
R6,woohoo ,,Umatrick...just got there..gave me a heartattack..
R7,..didnt take the shorts about Devils..had an e/w on Frisco,,(why ?)
R8,..Canadian Shuffle showed nothing down the straight...donkey,,

another loss in Brissie,,,2 weeks in a row..used to be that Brissie would bankroll my southern exploits...not nowadays....did get 3 results so i suppose it could have been worse

Sydney
winners Men at Work, Snippetson, Manton
Lossers Flora danica ,Railings,Dance Hero,Lotteria,Fighting fund
just a fantastic 1st 3 races...just walking on air ..trifecta ..1st4 results..
finally a winnning slipper,,Snitzels loss a distant memory..
incredible..

Melbourne
Dacapo..lost but only just
Merlot Now...did you see the champ fly home ???from nowhere on a track that doesnt suit...wooohooo
profit in Melbourne (again)..used to be my worst state..still is but i'm making headway..

Adelaide
I bet I win Baraba Rd..woohooo ..nice tri

Coast
Kantoshi ..did nothing..

taree
Strawbery Spy...to easy..my best of the day with Umatrick..
One Pound Six,,,50 wide the whole way...follow as he stuck to the task..
profit in Taree.

weird how my 2 losing venues were both in Qld !! dont know whats going on...
but a great day with some niced priced winners down south...

My Shout at the bar guys..hope you all had a good one
