Default Doomben Dribble

Race 1.
I like Yubi here..i know he has the bad barrier..but i'm confident Pope can get him over in this race..and even if he doesnt i dont think Yubi has to lead to win anyway in this race..
Very confident.
Race 2.
Emit time just looks to good...i know alot of people are saying the barrier is a problem but i dont think so...he could run alittle wide in this and still be to strong...he was big and awkward last prep as a baby..he's grown now and looks good..
Sportsman has him at 11's ?? no way ..he's a good thing in this..
Race 3.
Aim So High here..not a easy race to rate.. ...but from the barrier should get a nice run and be to good..watch for Glorious lady and Cafe Francis running on...actually at 50/1 Cafe is a good e/w on a good track,..
Race 4.
3 here ..Counter Agent, Last Claim and Desert Flight...
I like palmer on CA ..think hes a good jockey..the horse is in form ..i know in easier races but he does drop alot of weight ..will stick with him..
Race 5.
Carolina's boy looks good here..over the 1000m will be to nippy for them..like weishe and Champion Star aswell but think it might be just a tad to short for them.
SticksnStones form is good but flattered a bit by the wet tracks..
Race 6.
Hard to go past Terinupthecountry...just has to find clear running to be in this...hard to do sometimes at Doomben if your comming from the back,,,,will want 5's or better..
Race 7.
I like Picablu alot here....very confident and should be nice odds..was close up to Umatrick last start..should get a nice run in transit....i like the trainer aswell..hopefully doesnt get to far back,,
one at odds in this Generalisimo will appreciate the good barrier and firmer surface aswell..
Race 8.
Leaning towards Grab the Phone here..will lead this and could dictate out in front..will be hard to catch...
Tycoon Rose and Prophet jewel to be running on...both are in form and coming off good runs..

I'm fairly confident today in Doomben....thought at quick glance it was a very open day....but then again i could be way off..

Good Luck Guys

Race 1: Crystal Lane is one I like a bit here back on a drier surface would be a big help and has had some solid form I amnot really a big fan of the race but that is the one I like anyway.

Race 2: I don't care where Emit Time is drawn he should win this he just looks to have to much class for these. There is one I thought might be e/w value in this that is Polaris was a great win 1st up at Ipswich and it might have been far to wet last time be interesting to see how it goes today.

Race 3: Not a big fan here have tipped Glorius Lady a few times and she just might win today but it will be without my money on it.

Race 4: Last Claim looks ok here the break it has had is a worry but there isn't any champions in this race and with McKeons claim will get in with 51kgs on its back.

Race 5: Carolinas Boy the hardest to beat in this super consistent horse puts in all the time probably deserves to win this one.

Race 6: North Country and Tearinupthecountry both look to have claims here what type of odds they are is hard to say I expect alot of people to be on the later. Delago Blitz might be good e/w value was a horse that looked ok running around the bush in Melbourne and could easily be upto winning this.

Race 7: Little Punc and Malta are the 2 here not interested in much else to be honest on it's last run Little Punc should win but I think Malta is a solid horse and is out to a distance it will really like.

Race 8: Take away the go home early statement I like Twanged here but doubt it will be any tremendous odds Prophet Jewel also looks to be starting to hit some form aswell.

there are a couple in Sydney I like they are Diamonic, Sun Song and Dane Fantasy.

Good Luck on the punt today guys

Doomben thoughts....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I might add a few of my doomben thoughts for tomorrow...

Race 1 - I think Crystal Wit might be the way to go here. If she can return to near her best from Melbourne, she'll be very tough to beat. Yubi must be a chance also (with a better trip than last time) after the good win on the wet 2 back. Mr Tibula isn't the worst fresh, either.

Race 2 - This is a raffle. Any of them could win (save a couple of the emergencies). I ended up with Socialist, fitter after the 1st up run and is drawn to get a reasonable run behind what seems to be a hot pace. I liked the only run of the first emergency Sleek Repeat, where it nearly nailed subsequent town winner, Bold Sequalo (admittedly, giving it a few kilos). The two Webb runners are also hopes with the speed on.

Race 3 - Don't know. These 3yo's are a pretty even bunch. Maybe Learned Leo over Hard To Catch and Caffe Francais, who seems to put in some good runs at this track. Back em at your own peril, though

Race 4 - We Can't Say That here. Improving staying mare with no weight (as opposed to Desert Flight) and on pace. I think she can beat Desert Flight, the weight might tell in the last 100m and Crimson Gown a chance for a place.

Race 5 - I like Carolina's Boy. Back to the 1000m suits and can run good times. Levante gets conditions to suit here and can figure from the 1 with top jock and Nessuno for the place. Just think he's a risk coming back to the 1000.

Race 6 - Throw a dart. Maybe Shakespearian at nice odds, but i don't muchly care for the race.

Race 7 - Imperialism should win this. If he reproduces the run 2 back, i think he's a bit too strong. The 1666 was too far last time but back to the 1350 with the good alley.....yea, he'll do fine. If theres not much pace, Road To Heaven and Kanes Crossing are chances also. Little Punc is a money muncher so i refuse to put him in - he may win, but i've found its more profitable to leave him alone.

Race 8 - Not the greatest race to finish on, but i like Grab The Phone at around the $6 or $7 mark. He'll be on pace, and hopefully won't get pressured much during the race. Hoofer and Yukon Pride are chances aswell. Hoofer can put in a good one here and there and Yukon Pride has been racing consistently lately.

Best is probably Imperialism with the best roughie Caffe Francais,

Good luck with whatever you wager on tomorrow...

Sven

Hi Sven ..thought i might put your post over in this Thread or else people might miss it....weird we both mention Cafe Francis at 50's ..even XPT has it rated highly....Carolinas Boy is gaining momentum ,,wont be any flash odds i think....

News Flash !!
Heard on the grape vine Grab the Phone pulled up badly last start..the run was a real gutbuster ,,he might be alitle flat today and from the barrier the early work might take its toll...
will leave him alone today and concentrate on Tycoon Rose , Prophet Jewel and Twanged..
ps..(probably win by 5 lengths now) but just incase will have him in my tris..

Thanks Mav,

I thought i'd have Caffe Francais to myself

After the scratching of Learned Leo, my new ones for race 3 are Hard To Catch, Caffe Francais and maybe Lion Lair from the good gate.

Re Carolina's Boy, i think the odds will be decent with nessuno and sticks n stones included (and having an apprentice onboard).

Bad news about Grab the Phone if its true - hes the only one i liked in the race

Good luck

Sven

Well I hardly even bet today thought the races on a whole today were awful I had a go at North Country a bit only to be disappointed for a run probably didn't matter then had a go at Malta who I thought without the bit of interference he got might have won the race but ohwell that happens I guess. other than that I had a couple of good bets on Sun Song and Dane Fantasy with no joy at all so all in all terrible day but I didn't bet alot anyway as I said didn't like the races at all today.

Well the less said about this day the better...

Race 1 - Crystal Wit had a fairly checkered path along the back stretch and raced ungenerously nearing the home turn, and finished just behind the winner....might be one to follow, but not a good start

Race 2 - Always going to be a wipeout for me, so didn't risk much

Race 3 - Nice result from hard to catch, and agree Mav, Caffe Francais gets no more chances

Race 4 - Nothing here, we can't say that had her chance, just overpowered late.

Race 5 - Wasn't a great fan of the ride on Carolina's Boy, but Levante was an ok result.

Race 6 - Leaders went nuts, always going to be set up for a backmarker....good win by Alifly - no damage done here.

Race 7 - I'm glad the post came when it did. Nice win here, aided by a perfect run. Strong runs by Picablu and Malta - could follow them with some degree of confidence.

Race 8 - Lets just say that my form review tomorrow will consist of me writing the sentence "DO NOT CHANGE LAST MINUTE" 200 TIMES . Good win by Grab the Phone, Twanged was ridiculous odds.

Congrats on your winnings Mav

Sven

Sorry Sven ..,the news did come from someone involved in the horse which made me take notice....i had him rated easily on top...the race was a good result for me but if i had taken Grab the Phone for the win and my usual trifect.. it would of been about a ton better ..
I'll give you a sure thing tomorrow to make up for it..

Aim so High was dubbed the best bet in the world by Allan Thomas ...had no chance after that. lol
