Default ******************** tips

Apparently the computerised selections on ******************** are days away, free for all meetings I am told, until after the trial period.

Now they have some ratings and assessed prices up for a race in Melb tomorrow, one in Sydney, and one in Darwin of all places, under their ratings tab on their website. They also have an explanation next to each horse of how the rating was arrived at. Makes for interesting reading, like this:

1 AQUILINE Peak - 111 Projected rating - 110 Has been rating 106 comfortably, at the right time will find his absolute peak of 111. Three starts ago unlucky at MV rating 106, then went wide and rated 106 again. Handles wet, no doubt set for this. Penalised slightly because of wide draw, therefore 110.

And below it all assessed prices for those three races. Interesting to see how they go.

Question

Hey Duritz...interesting ratings...

I wasnt sure how you pick the winner from the ratings systems though...do you put them in order of the highest individual rating for the recent races?

How successful have their ratings been...have you tried them or followed them?

Cheers...

Yeah Desi the way you look at it is at the bottom of the page they have the selections sorted into selection order, and an assessed price next to it. The assessed price means that if the horse happens to be above those odds, it's worth backing.

I want to bet on the Darwin race, but just found out STAB aren't betting on it!!!

Question

Would it possible to make selection using the ******************** Ratings without having to subscribe, and only using the figures found on the formguide and horse history?

Seeker what's on there now IS the package, for now. You use what's freely available there to make your selections. Use their ratings to work out what they'll rate in the upcoming race. They've got two "examples" of how to use the ratings on the site right now, front page, LHS links to a race at Melb and one at Sydney tomorrow, with ratings and explanations and tips. well worth a look.

Here's how they went in the Melbourne race:

******************** Ratings Selections

Selection Horse Name Assessed Price
1 SUPER ELEGANT $4.3
8 OUR QUIVIRA $5.4
6 WILDLY $6.6
7 DILLY DALLY $6.9
4 BENNETTS GREEN $7.8
2 BOMBER BILL $13.1
9 LEONE CHIARA $15.5
5 FINAL EXPRESS $122.3

Numbers were 1-7-6, so winner on top, tri in top 4.

Just looked at the free preview of the Vain Stks today

Seriously, that looks like excellent stuff. I dont get to watch much Aussie races anymore, so their video comments make a huge difference. Thats an excellent form guide.

Is it $66 a month for the lot? Seems good value to me.

Yeah Chief it is $66 for the lot. It's absurdly good value - detailed video comments and accurate ratings like that.

The Sportsman are doing a story in an upcoming issue about 3yo's to follow this spring, using the ******************** ratings as their tool, I'm told. Australia doesn't have a reliable reference point for ratings - in England they refer to the Timeform service, here we don't have a place to refer. This is a start for sure.
