Smile Belmont Discussions 17/10

Thought I might start with some of my thoughts and hope to incite/ invite (lol) some discussion and possible contributions...for Belmont tomorrow...

Severe weather warning was issued tonight for Saturday morning with showers heavy at times and strong cold north westerlies early on and easing in the afternoon...if the nwesterlies are still around then some of the back markers might come on and cause a few upsets...will keep an eye on the weather...we have had some good warm/ dry days so cant see the track getting worse than dead unless there is a lot of rain early on.

R1 Very small field and hardly worth a bet to be honest...Sleek Tonique easily if it can repeat last effort, Top Drives (one of the Parnham runners) run for third was a solid first up to Sleek and worth watching, then Tycoon Cut, Interange. No bet.

R2 The top 2 Another Clanger (has won at distance) and Stanz the Man (finshed so well that extra 200m will suit) will be fighting for the lead and favouritism this race which means the pace will be on and might just be right for Zabba Doo (who will just sit in behind them) to sneak in...Lady Shiraz to include in multis...Zabba each way if good price...

R3 Zip Coni will be favourite after his slashing run from way back to win at Belmont (1400m on a wet track)...didnt beat too much though and this is a lot stronger...cant see too much pace on in the race... Its A Legend will probably take a lead then fade with Jaunty Lad and Lord Of The Spring thereabouts- they might try to sneak a lead down the straight...like General Strike's run 2 weeks back to Army Prince and think he will come on with Bo Tempo (and Zip-too late?) Picking J Lad/ G Strike Qui/ Ex then Zip and rest for multis...

R4 There will be a lot of pace in this race OFlirty and Foxaround will fight for the lead and maybe try to go all the way (with Gobiton 2 back and ready to pounce)...liked Educated Moneys finish behind Gobiton, has freshened and Brad Parnham on board will also need to race in handy posi to get on the front runners...Covertly will be forward after trial work and Western Tycoon will be running from the back. Picking Foxaround (with the sting out of the track-will be short) just, Educated Money (ew) and Gobiton finishing on.

R5 Scenic Asault will be all the rage without doubt PJ didnt even break a sweat last start but this is much stronger...really like Maximus Munius after strong run for 3rd two starts back behind Wire Detonator (Belmont 1400m fast track) and then was bumped by Bicton when making his run finishing 2nd behind Spirited Gem (last week slow track Bel 1400m) can go one better I think if price is good strong ew bet...Circle Valley, William Steal and Danny Blue for multis (and if wet Fimmos Crown is not without a chance).

R6 Not too sure to be honest... Attractions will run handy and be fave-should win, Eastern Standard will try and lead all the way with Beyond Dispute and Paris Bank finishing on...ideal race though for an outsider to fly in from nowhere...My Thornbird, Adventurer or Lakeside Song...

R7 Cant go past Keys Ace and Classic Chevron both have been good to me...Pure Black, Star Tudor, Perfect Outlook and My Leo for Multis...

Not sure what happened to PJ Harvey? Anyway would love to hear from you guys about your picks so I can make plenty of moolah for the family lol

Have a great day!!!

Cool Belmont 24/9 Saturday

Had a good day last Wednesday (actually seem to do far better during the week than weekends) hoping the luck stretches to tomorrow...Forecast is for fine weather with moderate to fresh s'easterlies and shifting to s/swesterlies in the afternoon. The track should improve to good/ not worse than dead for tomorrow...

R1 The Parnham stable is well represented with Another Clanger and Torrid Affair in this one...the former will be likely fave and led all the way last week 1400m on a slow track and will try and do so again...Torrid Affair (who returns from a 3 week break) has raced a little greenly but will enjoy the extra distance and will benefit from the strong pace set up by the stable mate and hopefully fly home again from the back...Zabba Doo is better at the weights this time around (JValas claim) and will be thereabouts think it will take the sit in behind Another Clanger and try and steal it in the last 200m...Ramiro has been improving (good odds) and will be flying in alongside TAffair...Picking Torrid to win from Zabba Doo, Ramiro and Another Clanger. Will depend on market on how I bet.

R2 Is Amazing has all the ticks for me (with PJ on board), has great first up form and distance and track form...expected to be very short...

R3 Star Tudor, despite the draw, hopefully back to a good track and favourite distance to win this one...from BillyAintSilly and Kimique the dangers and will incl Paid Debt and Tonnerre Noir in the exotics...hoping everyone will go for PJs ride and Kimique...

R4 Interange (Brad Parnham) and Sweet Record (PJ)will try and win it from the front ...Air Race and Believe the Cat, from the back, might be too late, and watch out for Mr Diagnosis (Fred Kersleys stable is flying at the moment) can go well fresh...might just look at a small ew on Mr D and see what the toppie is paying.

R5 Scenic Assault flew home after looking out of it and again is the one to beat-will be very short...Zip Coni, Danny Blue, and Diamond Rhythm (hope PJ can get her going she owes me) the Dangers and Star Trek might still be one run from his best but maybe keep onside in the tris...no bet for me unless Scenic is showing a fair price or a tempted ew on DBlue or DRhythm.

R6 Im going for Serjeant Mack here, after a fast finishing 2nd to Stratazoa (on a slow track) over this distance/track 14 Sept and hoping he will be at good each way odds...High Authority (PJ) who will also be coming from the back the danger, from Mythalo, What A legend and Deltamaster (another one who owes me plenty lol) in the exotics.

R7 Eutri should be the fave and on paper should be too good (short price tho)....I like Talbot Bay who will be getting back to firmer ground and is a danger, with Answer Me Blue, Vern Brockman's Chanting and Beau Pago for exotics. Will watch for price on Eutri as saver and take Talbot Bay ew.

R8 Im going to stick with Zanella (won well last start- track and distance on a dead track after getting a good sit behind the leader) to beat Scenic Mist (another good winner last start) Anywhere There and Alees Taxi. Hoping they will leave Zanella for the two toppies. Super Womens run for 2nd behind Zanella was an eyecatching one and might be worth ew and incl in multis.

Ive picked some obvious ones...trying not to be greedy but hoping Star Tudor, Sergeant Mack and Talbot Bay win at good odds!

Wishing you lots of $$$$ this weekend one and all!

Thumbs up

WOW! What a day at the track!!!....after a very poor start...got there for Race3 and went large around Star Tudor, Kimique and Billy OOPS

Thought it could be an early finish but then it just got better with a good ew on Mr D ...missus even let me have a light beer...hope you all had a go...Jessica Valas's rating on Scenic Assault was a sight to see (Mav you were right she is scary) got 2.60/1.60 on her (unbelievable actually had one of my biggest ever punts on a horse with Scenic which was a but scary but what a feeling watching Jessie reign them in...Diamond Rhythm and Delta Master came in too to help me get 4 consecutive tris (and the Missus pipped in with Uncle Graham after her uncle no science involved there lol)! Thought Sergeant Mack was a little short but could not believe what I got for Talbot Bay and Zanella...will have to go on course a lot more often!! Other than managing to get an excellent price on Youths Edge...betting for eastern racing was not good though ...

Oh well, Im not complaining...hope Sportz, Mav, Sven, Luv, Stix and all forum tipsters had a bet cos I owe you all big time!!!
