Rule 1: Only consider non-handicap races with five to 12 runners inclusive. Both flat races and jumps races can be considered.
Rule 2: Back the pre-post favourite in the race provided it is not ridden by a three-kilogram apprentice and its pre-post price is at least four points shorter than the second favourite.

Rule 3: An extension is to pick the "bet of the day". Of the qualifiers in rules one/two, the "bet of the day" is the favourite with the highest points difference between the first and second favourite.
