Eagle Farm Saturday
Race 1,
Diamondsontheinside, Greccolo, The Jackal, Nova Star.....my top four in a very open race...You'd think Diamonds would be ready now 4th run in and working to the line solidly..i would have liked to see alittle more from him but he his improving..has the good barrier, gun jock and likes the track and distance....The Jackal is an improving type,,wasnt entirely happy with his last 100m last start but against this opposition is a chance...Greccolo battled on well last start in a hot race,,,good thing about this horse is he puts himself in the race and the distance is ideal,,also like the breed..,,Nova Star will appreciate the wide open spaces here..will be a mile back but she'll be flying late.... Diamonds and Greccolo for the win.........Nova Star, The Jackal , Funlove close up.. Race 2. Doesnt get much easier here,,,Deuxiume , Spirit Of tara rate the highest,,both will be back with probably Show Biz Kid and Xlerate....all will be making there trademark sweeping runs together.....Up the front you'll have Picablu , Omnitrader hopefully setting a nice tempo,,,the horse i can see getting a good run behind them will be Prosecution and Benedetti who will have to go forward from the bad barrier but that might count against him the last 50m........ I'm a fan of Diexieme ,,this horse can run time and loves it here on this track,,forget last run where he was wide and to far forward...Spirit of Tara is hard to follow just doesnt know how to win but it does seem a perfect race for him..,,Show Biz kid will be ridden very very quiet this time and you'll see a huge improvement also a good jockey change. ,,,,.. Looks like i'll be on Deuxieme and maybe a e/w on Prosecution plus working tris around the the ones mentioned.. Race 3. Open race again...Coincedental ??,,,looks as though this has been her target race and should be peaking ,,,would have liked to see alittle more from her and alittle query on the jock...Pentelikon interests me here,,shes a very competitive mare and with the Pumper on board a big plus and i also thought she battled on very well last start from the bad barrier... Youd think The princess and the Countess will battle out the lead together and would both be sitting ducks on this track but noth to good to forget,,,Pasiketera i think better when leading,,wont be able to do so tomorrow,,,..Freeroller's last 2 runs have been very good and has the good barrier and expect a better run by Love n Money who is better than her last few runs,,,always races better here.... At the odds Pentelikon and Freeroller ..??. Race 4 Point Made, Majorca and Ice Chariot my top 3....i like the form around Point Made and also liked the way Majorca finished off last start...Ice Chariot's last run was ok,,,expected probably a bit more but here on this open track he'll have heaps of time to wind up....I'd expect him to be fairly short..if he is and Point Made is nice value i'll be leaning his way....Majorca an option depending on odds...Vietnam and Prend winding up late,,,..a good multi race.. also thought Master Dennis would give alot of cheek as he seems the only leader in this race..if he pinches a few cheap furlongs you just never know..but you'd think hed have to be a risk at the distance especially on this track.. Race 5. Ghetto Blaster was very impressive last start,,,seems the only danger to the Maunds runners..not sure about this Upper Echelon who does seem to have a stack of ability....i'd be looking at Pure Energy and Ghetto Blaster as i think this Upper Echelon and a couple of others might pester Gold Edition out of it....not really keen on this race ..hoping for some value.. Race 6. Seems the best bet option of the day this Gaze ,,,guessing to short for me to back but looks a great race for the 1st4 ,,especially with the big jackpot... I'll be having a few combos...thought Allow or Magic Harmony a chance of maybe upsetting the fav with Beauty Watch , zenarta ,Vietnam , Upstaged in there somewhere....... I dont mind this Magic Harmony who will love this track...might be worth an e/w if you dont like Gaze and the price.. Race 7. Finally a race where i really like something...Consular gets the nod ...hes racing as good as ever..loves the track and i like Purton on him ...needs that strong whip rider to get him going....Not an easy race for him though..Falaise, Messian, Yell ,Smart and Mighty and even October Grey all good chances... Consular for me but keep Falaise very safe,,,probably worth backing both... Race 8. this is where i throw the ratings out the window...High Academy for me...thought he was sus over ground but hes proven me wrong...hit the line nicely last start in a hot race...Colless knows the horse now and watch him come to the outside down his favourite track.....Arts Success, Bazelle, Coalesc the obvious dangers.. Best bets .??? Diamondsontheinside, Consular. High Academy Best e/w's . Deuxieme, Pentelikon, Magic Harmony As you can see not an easy day...i'd recomend going nice and wide with your multis..and backing 2 or even 3 horses a race.,,most races will be so open that its possible to do so.....personally i'll be taking it alittle easier in Brissie than usual ,,it just seems one of those days hopefully i start well other state selections Sydney Danahar, Precise Timing, Tactfully Melbourne Royal ida, Soverign Miss Adelaide Stamen, Gold Coast Blood Pill, Thimbles, Belmont Boy canny go, Woodala Bendigo John Syn Kembla Grandzig,Standabove Toowomba Panzer ALot of runners..but scratchings and weather and also prices will kull a few.. Good Luck all |

G'day Mav,
Finally back to EF tomorrow. Will be down there, i can't wait. Hopefully the track is in reasonable shape too, we havent had rain for an eternity. Fields look pretty good quality, though they're obviously stacked...so there'll be value. Race 1 - I'm getting sick of barrier draws. Like 3 horses here and 2 of them have drawn the carpark. I've settled on Funlove. Think she is a nice filly and can sit on pace. Can't see too much speed, but with the big field it'll probably be on. Funlove can probably sit 2 or 3 back on the outside and will be finishing on after the fitness run first up. Got a lot of time for this trainer too, think she goes OK. Teletrader is far far shorter in pre-post markets than i thought he'd be, but i still reckon hes got plenty of talent. Can figure from the perfect draw with speed on. My Son Day is the other one who has drawn the outside rail but he'll probably go back and try and run over the top of them at the death. Nikolic hasn't really been riding well lately, but im hoping that changes with this bloke tomorrow...i've got a pretty high opinion of him when he puts it all together. Race 2 - Like a few at odds here. I've settled on Deuxieme. Meets an easier field here and Byrne has just started to get back to some form so he will ensure a good run i'd say. The speed will be on, so i can see him sitting worse than midfield and storming down the outisde. Hissy Fit will improve on the first up run, has great second up form. Best form is over a mile, but the 1500m at this start of the campaign shouldnt be a problem. Look for him to be getting home late. Prosecution was 3 and 4 deep the trip last time and did well to finish where he did. With a better run in transit he can surely go close here. Very consistent galloper. Interested to see the bottom weight here, Sphenophyta...not bad NZ form. Race 3 - Who'd know. The barrier has got me again, but i've stuck with Mesmerising. She'll have to get back a long way from 19 but she has plenty of talent and the first up run will top her off nicely for an event like this. Like her a fair bit for better races in the future (if she can draw an alley). Princess Margaret has to be a big doubt at the 1400m but shes a game little mare and with a reasonable run in front, will be a big show at eachway odds. Coincidental has been a shade disappointing of late for mine but she gets a chance here, in a slightly easier field. Can run good time when everything goes her way. Race 4 - Like Prend here. Finally gets back to EF, Ross reckons shes an out and out stayer. If they put the speed on up front, i can see her flying over them late. Wish she was in the Oaks. Ice Chariot can show everyone whether hes a stayer or not tomorrow. The 18 alley is awful but he'll go back i'd say and should get good speed on. I've got my doubts whether he'll stay on the last effort, but his best runs have been at EF so i'm not going to sack him completely. Master Denis was a great run last time and will only be improved by that outing. They'll probably go forward again and won't be far off. Good race, but i really like Prend. Race 5 - Like Ghetto Blaster. I have been waiting for this bloke to get back to EF over some ground and he gets it here. The 1 alley is fantastic and Katsidis knows him well. I can see him sitting 4 or 5 back the fence and pulling out in the straight and being too strong - the big field should ensure enough speed for him. Upper Echelon is a Sydney horse with some nice form and the good alley, and won't be far off them. Hawkes knows how to win these big 2yo races too. Danleigh has drawn the carpark but has talent and could be one running on at the death. Race 6 - I've never liked the Oaks as a betting proposition and this is no exception. Generally a roughy wins it (Mon Mekki, Zagalia, Vouvray...just off the top of my head) so its pretty tough to pick. I've settled on Kruger Valley. Has good NZ form and, importantly, has raced over the journey and seemed to handle it well. The 1 alley and Rodd is a MASSIVE plus. At 10-1, she'll do me. Upstaged has drawn well too, and the run the other day at Doomben was a good one. Definite chance. Zenarta will lead and can give a good show out in front if there isn't a lot of speed. Was a very good effort last time at Doomben after being wide. Naturally, its a matter of picking the ones which you think will stay in this grade...a very difficult task if you ask me . Race 7 - Pretty tough race. I don't really like any of them, but i've settled on Media. She doesn't seem to win very often but this isn't as strong as the recent races she has contested. She'll do me, with Rodd aboard. Falaise has got good ability and the recent runs have been very good. EF looks at though it will suit very well. Jockey doesn't inspire confidence...which is why hes not on top. I suppose Century Serby must be given a hope with no weight and the good run behind La Montagna last time, but i can't really get excited about him. He seems to have good talent though, so hes a nice chance. Race 8 - Pathetic. This is not a WFA race. I've settled on Art Success because hes been good to me, not because i really think he can win. Hes the perfect EF horse (perfect Brisbane Cup horse too) so i think he can put in a strong showing tomorrow and go mighty close in the cup. Haylee Baylee was trotting on the turn last week but her condition just gave out in the end. She'll be cherry ripe for this and a win for her would not surprise in the least. Meets Coalesce a lot better on the weights too. High Academy was a good run behind Above Deck in the Doobem Cup last time but i'm sick of him. He might be able to run a place, but i'll never pick him on top again . Good days racing with my best being Prend and Ghetto Blaster with nice eachway chances to Funlove and Kruger Valley. Good luck all, Sven |

G'day Lads,
Another hard day, maybe a couple of long shots/well priced winners again today, We'll there's definately value out there. r1. I know Sven likes this horse, and Today so do i , My Son Day to win Has ability and should show it. From Diamond's. r2. My Roughie of the day, Hissy Fit @ 30's, never got a crack at 'em last Start and has won 2/3 2nd up, Loves the Track and i Love the Hawkes Mcmahon combo. r3. Princess Margaret gets the nod back against own sex. if she leads and is allowed to , she will prove hard to run down. (good bet e/w) r6. Gaze for me, Has the makings of a super star, and really i dont think you could say that about any other up & comers here today. r7. If C.Newitt hasnt won one by the time this race jumps i will be super confident on Spuruson. r8. Mav , was it just me.... or where you like myself abit surprised at High Academy's run last start. Didnt it get to the line against a quality field. I know it was Doomben and it can be decieving....Butt on that run you Would have to conclude that 2400 even though at E.Farm should'nt pose A problem. Maybe im just scared of Missing him, i think he's that kind of Horse. |

It would be remiss of me not to mention,
I heard an interview on my way home an hour ago with AW Noonan, He has two runners in Sydney today and has MADE the trip up to Sydney with them, r4. Hanna Rossa , Who's Dam (Johanna) is a three quarter sister to Bohemiath (intersting) , will be taking home the prise, Nash Rawiller on board and he has Just the ONE ride today, most of my kitty will definately be on. Nash is a Freek at the best of times, but when he goes interstate for one ride he very very seldon loses. r8. Postcode, Noonan is praying to get a start as he is 1st emergency, He is very confident with both Horses but the slow going and the 2 kg Claim gives this horse a big show. I will defo all-up em. ps. Look out for Vlad Duric & to a lesser extent Brady Cross, both have Made the trip to Adelaide today and have interesting rides. |

Well it looks the perfect day at the perfect track gents. I'd love to be there.
Ice chariot gets the outside draw this week and should run over the top of them from the rear. Princess Margret is ready to win from barrier 3 with Seamer at the wheel. Duexieme has the speed and should win r2. I like a longshot ew in the 1st. Markasa at big odds. Bazelle with Nickolic should run a race and a half in the last and Hasta la ciao ciao with good odds in the 7th. Kruger for the biggy as Gaze's barrier is not so good here and Kruger could beat him home in the NZ Oaks and should here too. A proven G1 horse at the distance and ready to fire. Hope everyone has a great day!! |

Looks a great days racing again today in brissie can't wait for it to kick off.
Race 1: What a hard race to start the day off Diamondsondinside picks itself as a major chance I just wonder if this horse is going aswell as it can I certainly couldn't load up on it confidently. The horse I am going to have something on is Rumbird the horse usually starts at nice odds and they just might back him off the pace today and let him fly home, Can't knock The Jackal either here sat wide all the way in sydney last start under 57kgs and managed to hold on to the line would keep an eye on what happens with Nova Star in the market aswell if there is support then it could be a mistake to leave her out of your multiples. My bet will be Rumbird might have something on Diamondsondinside or the Jackal if I think they are good value. Race 2: Well I think back to last weekend and I was ready to sack Show Biz Kid however with Nickolic off (huge bonus in my opinion) not sure about the distance but you would think he could cope with it I am certainly not going crazy onhim this week though. Dangers are Deuxieme always a chance Magic Marvo will appreciate the move to Eagle Farm will be flying home, and I might be wrong but I think Picablu will be in this for along time. Will have a little on the Kid and see what the odds allow after that. Race 3: Really like Pentelikon here finally gets a nice draw which will help it alot looks well weighted in the race aswell, Freeroller the main danger I think big run last start and drawn to get a beautiful run will be hard to beat. I wouldn't be surprised if Laura's Charm runs a bit of a race form doesn't look to bad and then I wouldn't dismiss Decibeel, Serenote and Countess Bathory very hard race. I will have a bit on Pentelikon and not sure after that. Race 4: Master Denis here for me he is my pick for the Derby next week and it is just a matter of whether he is ready to produce his best my feeling would be that is another run away yet I amnot so sure they will go to the lead with him they just might get back off the pace will depend on what happens out of the barrier I think. Prend worries me a bit always had time for the horse and you would think the distance suits I like Sven was surprised she didn't line up in the Oaks. I will back Master Denis and see what odds Prend is might save on her. Race 5: Hard race this one might leave it right alone to be honest Ghetto Blaster looks an obvious pick on it's last run was really eating up the ground late after that I like Danleigh, Invault, Dans D'or, Pure Energy and Upper Echelon. I don't mind some of the form surrounding Invault and it is one that might run a bit of a race and get under the radar a bit if it is good odds atleast double figure then I think it is worth a bit e/w. Upper Echelon and Pure Energy would be equal for mine don't dismiss either of them I certainly can't seperate them. I might have something e/w on Invault will depend on the odds what I do here. Race 6: The Oaks might not be as straight forward as some might think this year as Sven said it is a race that is usually won by a roughie this is no exception Magic Harmony is a horse who in my opinion is looking for this journey and this track has a horror draw but that will just help inflate the odds very big striding horse and I think it is in this upto it's eyeballs, Kruger Valley has all the form lines the right draw and certainly the right jockey it would be a major mistake to leave the horse out of anything would be surprised if it doesn't run a race the horse to beat in my opinion. I will have something on both Magic Harmony and Kruger Valley. Race 7: Nightmare of a race here you could back half the field here and come up with nothing at all in this race, I am thinking of having a little on both Spuruson and Legendary Man this is the sort of race where I just want to find something at decent odds Picaday might be another that fits that mold to, Media definite chance but it isn't a horse that intills confidence and Consular always runs a great race just wonder if he will be ready to fire next weekend. Waiting to see the odds here no idea really like Legendary Man and Spuruson a bit at what might be there odds. Race 8: I don't want to back anything outside out Art Success here was fantastic last time and he gets a beautiful draw again certainly has a nice turn of foot and I think he just might be too good for this lot really think this guy might be a goor stayer in the making. Outside of Brissie I like Melbourne Dyna Myta in race 2 at Flemington form looks ok Hillston Exchange in race 6 ws on it last start as massive odds if it gets a start will be on again Pipkin in race 7 looks extremely hard to beat on a track that will suit her Sydney Genuinely in race 4 looks ok ran on nicely last start and if the track suits this pattern then don't leave it out Double Dare is a horse I have always liked however if the track is wet leave him alone Mind the Step in race 6 is a horse I like will go close here despite the dropin distance. Pekalan will be very tough to hold out in race 7 Shalimar Sky my best bet outside of brissie today aslong as the track isn't to wet she will be right in this. Adelaide Race 8 tough race but I will have a bit on Akhaton was on last start when it won at big odds will certainly have something on it again. Good Luck guys |

Hey all,
Theres a lot of talk around for Spuruson in the 7th it seems. They've even specked in him the Straddy. Raw, From memory, the reaosn why Prend isn't in the Oaks is that they mistakenly nom'ed her for the Derby instead. And i assume that since her runs, on paper at least, havent been all that good, they decided not to go to the Derby either. Shame really, because i still think she would have won the Oaks. You should get a nice enough price about Show Biz Kid too. There is nice money for Benedetti and Spirit of Tara always drags some money. We'll get to see Show Biz Kid at a more suitable track today too...first time in a long while. Don't think the distance will be too much of a worry and they are definately trying to win this to get an excemption for the Straddy. Crash, I agree with you that Markisa is worth a look in the 1st race. Should be 30s and it is worth noting that many of these NZ raiders improve out of sight their second run this area. The first run was OK though, got to the line reasonably well and the 1400m, with that breeding, shouldnt be a problem . Dazz, Unfortunately i don't think you'll get 30s for Hissy Fit. He is about half that in pre-post markets...shame because i'll be on him too . Agree with your comments regarding Princess Margaret...though the weight put me off slightly. Good luck everyone Sven |

Race 5: I really like Upper Echelon - i think its going to turn out to be a really nice horse. I'm still not convinced entirely about Gold Edition's 1400 compared to Pure Energy's. I like the latter for 2nd
Race 6: Gaze is favourite and deservedly so, but i don't think there will be any value. Beauty Watch is shortening but should be thereabouts. I'm quite keen on Upstaged who has good form coming into this and a good barrier Race 7: One of my favourites Century Serb is racing well enough to win this and i'm really keen on it...should be good value come racetime, $5.00 is good enough for me. Main dander is Falaise who is really starting to look good and willl be in the finish...Legendary man has an ordinary barrier but should be coing home. Race 8: Haylee Baylee was a good run last time behind Coalesce, and meets in 5 kgs better in the weights this time. High Academy at odds is worth a go and Mahtoum should go okay but is well unders |
