Saints coach Thomas resigns

St Kilda coach Grant Thomas has resigned.

Thomas is due to hold a press conference in a few minutes.

No big surprise really.

......... not really a resignation!!

Nope.

My first thought when I saw Stix's post was "did he jump or was he pushed?" Had a feeling that if they didn't at least reach the final 4 this year, he'd be in big trouble.

Of course he was pushed..... with a year to go, that was always the case

.... IMHO a victim of over inflated expectation....... but really who is going to replace him? Already a number of "untried" assistant's are being bandied about.... surely a "experienced/proven" coach is what they need if they are to obtain what the are after - a premiership.... their window of opportunity is surely closing rapidly....

He was sacked.

He hasn't acheived with a squad that should have. The players only have a period of 5 years to show that they can win Grand Finals, and Grant has yet to show that in what is clearly a capable side. St.Kilda are at their peak basically, and to lose in the first final really caused an uproar.
