well on those draws ive gotta say i like railings or safwa in the bmw and chinchilla rose or deferential for the slipper. murtajill from 16 will make it interesting. definitely opens it right up, if it wasnt open enough already.

Golden Slipper:
2 Meurice
4 Deferential
9 Press The Button
appear to have fared well in the barrier draw, while:
1 Murtajill, and
12 Sleek Chassis have drawn "in the carpark!"
a lot of form study ahead for me before Saturday's big race!
Certainly, an upheaval in pre-post betting markets is guaranteed.
Just a word of caution: with the unsettled weather being experienced in NSW at the moment maybe raceday conditions may play a huge part in determining the eventual outcome.

Cheers.

I backed 2 horses pre barrier draw.

Zizou and sleek chassis.

Very happy with Zizou and i think the 15s i got are looking really good now.

As for sleek chasis-I see no option but for Dunn to grab hold and snag it back to last on the rail. Then when they fan out on the turn (you know they will, esp on slipper day) stick to the rail and let the filly go full bore!

3:27pm.AEDT-I just heard that Murtajill has been backed into favouritism so as Sportz speculated there have been some knee-jerk reactions to the barrier draw in these early stages of post barrier draw betting-it does not seem to have deterred supporters of this runner.
The one I was dubious about was the support for Forensics which although securing barrier1 and D Oliver as jockey-really.... how advantageous do you think the rails barrier is in these big races when invariably they go wide in the home straight?
Keep in mind...Hurried Choice!
Any thoughts on happenings so far?

Cheers.

Yeah, Forensics was the one that stumped me too. It was $15 this morning when it looked like it was going to be 1st emergency. Then it got in the field and got barrier 1 and all of a sudden it was the $6 favourite??? I was just looking at the results of the last 6 Slippers and barrier 1 hasn't run a place. However, Barriers 1 & 3 are the most successful in slipper history with 6 wins each.

Here are the updated odds. There have been some BIG changes!!! Can't work out Deferential. It was $9 after the barrier draw. Now, just 4 hours later it's $15! What happened? Has it lost a leg?

MURTAJILL $6.50
ZIZOU $7.50
MEURICE $8.00
PRESS THE BUTTON $8.00
FORENSICS $9.00
SHAFT $9.00
SLEEK CHASSIS $11.00
DEFERENTIAL $15.00
CHINCHILLA ROSE $17.00
HURRIED CHOICE $17.00
DOWNHILL RACER $21.00
CECCONI $26.00
HUSSON LIGHTNING $26.00
INCUMBENT $26.00
MIMI LEBROCK (2E) $35.00
VECCHIA ROMA $35.00
MARCHING (1E) $51.00
ROSE CEREMONY $51.00

Anybody know what Beadman will be riding?

Does John Hawkes even know?

post2,

HORSEWHISPERER,

I agree with you that Railings will be a definite possibility in the BMW.
Look at it's form - a Gp1 Caulfield Cup winner over the same distance and he has been brought along well by J. Hawkes to prime him for the day.
I will certainly include him in my multiples in this race.

Cheers.
