Question Dear Bank Manager

Dear Sir / Madam

Before i start please let me use a line from a new song courtesy of our friends 'The Rogue Traders' ..."i never liked you even when i tried too" << cmon 2% on an everyday account + Eftpos fees. You ddnt think your doing me a favour do you...
Now on a serious note. The next Term Deposit for rollover on my list which was actually due today, please dont bother rolling over for another 6 months. It seems my fellow Australians were keen on giving me 3yrs worth of compounding interest in just 2hrs10min tonite on their belief Sri Lanka were going to break the 2nd all time record on a run chase @ the SCG to beat Australia on one of the slowest pitches we will see for some time yet. I gave the pleasure to my wife to ring on our behalf to bet 'the house' on this result, x3 times just after the 2nd half despite the snicker from the bloke on the other end of the phone, who for the 6th time from 6 goes in 10yrs my wife has beaten ( sometimes you need to share the pleasure ) who wont earn the net result in another few months of "employer paid wages" (Your snicker sounds better when we play it back on the recording machine after the flogging) hence the remark from our end " you will be able to pay straight after the result right "( buddy that was our family that rang after the game singing the Dire Straites song "money for nothing.....") before hanging up. The $1.24, $1.30 + $1.28 was more then justified when the little chuckers couldnt manage 50% of our score on a pitch slower then the M4 west bound on a Friday @ 6pm.

Guys on a serious note. I go ok on the horses, enough to earn a living but never ever have claimed to have found a 'good thing' other then 100/1 on El Cairo to win the Slipper which i passed on to a few in here! ......which we can lay fOR 30's if so desired when Betfair decide to get their act together & open up a market..... ok now im bragging ( on @ 100's agencies & TABS now $21 ! agencies & TABS. I posted a thread pre xmas asking about where to get on Slipper market trying to chase this mule) but i have a question that i think will bring some wide responses.

I respect horse flesh and dont believe there is ever a good thing. Like most in here i love my sports & can more easily declare a sports match a good thing rather then any horse race i see.
Every now and then you may see a sports match or even a horse that you just think is the greatest bet you'll ever see. I am talking a once in a month / once in a 6 month /once in a year period.... whatever, you know what i mean.

My Q is how do you go about betting on it? Is it everything you have? Is it a set amount i.e. x3 times your normal bet? Is it 'wheres my credit card & whats the available credit on it?"

Do you set aside say 10% of your weekly winnings into a completely seperate account and bet 25% on theses once in a blue moon opportunitys?

Whats your limit?....how hard is it to draw a line in the sand on amounts when its just too good to be true? compared to the ratio of 'normal bets'

i reckon its a good question that we all come across but never really gets threaded in here

Wink Good Oil

For those once in a 12 month opportunity's heres more on the 2yo El Cairo.

A tip off given to me before xmas. This mule was 100's everywhere on opening markets. The goal was to take it all at 100s and wait for the 1st public trial.
This trial was only Monday just gone. J Cassidy drove from Sydney to Newcastle for the trail ( anyone remember Stratum?)
He won by 9L -hard held. The immediate result was a crunch $100's into $21 - $31 via all agencies & TABS straight after.
Only even that night Centrebet hadnt caught on. They were still offering $100 on monday night! <<< hello Darwin, anybody home!
Anyone bold enough would know that even upon Betfair opening they could lay it for $30's... so 100s Centrebet after the trial was 'once in a lifetime'
Well they finally opened trade and i can see on 1 smart punter offering $24's << come some happy punters, let me know if you want more too

Ears to the ground and who says its not who you know ; )

Mind you it wasnt all hidden this article was pre 08'!
