Hi all,

It doesn't look at bad meeting at Eagle Farm today, with some promising types going around. Its nice weather up here today so we should get a good racing surface.

It does look like a race in 2 this race. Fastnstraight has been racing very well at Doomben and the Gold Coast, coming from well back, so he gives the impression that Eagle Farm will be perfect. If there is plenty of speed on, i can see him getting over the top of them. There is no doubt that Double or Nothin is a chance, she is in great form. I just wasn't totally impressed with the last win, which is why i've gone off her today. Bann Ruby was a good win in the Ballina Cup last time, and a repeat of that sort of performance gives him a place chance here.

Not many surprises in store for this race i don't think. Simplest is very promising and should be able to account for this field if he is right. He has strung together many wins last prep, stepping through the grades nicely. This is not hugely strong (outside of Sectagonal), so if he gets reasonable run, i think he is too good. Sectagonal has always been ultra consistent and if there is any issues with Simplest, he will be there ready to pounce. All things being equal though, i think Simplest is the better horse. Piccohi might be able to improve today, he is a better horse than the last 2 runs suggest.

I've always thought Notre Amour was a pretty decent horse. He has run some nice races around the 3yos of last season, which i still believe is strong form (as is evidenced by Regal Castanea). He has no weight here and the track is back to good. If he gets a soft run up near the speed i think he might be able to get away with it. Black Morgan was a super run last time. If he can repeat that sort of run, he is right in the mix here (he'll be hoping there is plenty of speed from that alley). Regal Castanea was a good win last time, and he can win again but i just think he will be too short - He hasn't yet run a rating that has equalled Black Morgan's last start.

I like Slim Pickings here. He was beaten out of sight first up, but he has a fantastic second up record. The step up in distance is perfect for him i think. If there is enough speed on (hopefully Kutalo pours it on) i think he can get home at reasonable odds. Bitabiff is as honest as they come. He hasn't run a bad race in his last 6 or 7 i don't think and i can't see that changing here. He has crept up in the weights, but he is meeting more of the same horses here. Definite chance. Victory Code is in much the same boat as Bitabiff so he has a definite chance too.

I like Daedalus. He is a speedy type who goes well fresh. If he can find the lead easily enough, and the fence is not off again, i think he'll be too quick for these. He will be very short for what he's done so far though, so i'm not sure he is a betting proposition. Dalzar is a nice horse when he puts his mind to it. He has had a few things go wrong in his races in the past but he has a win over Pepperwood at Eagle Farm back during the carnival, which is nice form for a race like this. He is a definite knock-out chance. Lennon will be running on and is a chance, but i've steered clear until he wins another one.

I loved the way Express Air ran on last time. It was a super run, even though she was coming down the middle of the track where is was arguably better. If she can reproduce a run like that here, with the extra 100m i think she can certainly trouble these. Seeyou is much better than his run last time suggested. He was on the worst part of the track and he just didn't seem to handle it very well. If he gets back to his old self, i expect him to be in the finish. Zero Rock is a chance for sure, but i have seen a lot of this Trainer's horses win well fresh and then train off after a few runs. I'd like to watch her at the odds they'll be betting - i think there are better betting opportunities elsewhere today.

I'll give Shew Stone another chance because i don't think she was at home on the wet track last time. She is a much better horse than that, and if there is some speed on i think she can run well. On The Fridge has yet to lose a race, which is a nice position to be in after 4 runs. They have been in much easier class than this, but you can only win and she has been doing it well. Definite chance on the ratings she has produced. Savanna La Mar was a good run on the worst part of the track last time and if she reproduces something like that, she can be there at the death.

I'm really keen on Moppett here. It was a super run behind Albert the Fat last time and this is not a strong race at all. This trainer seems to know exactly when to bring them to town and i don't think he'd be running here just for the fitness. I think she will win. Covet Gold gets back but can run home hard when there is enough speed on, so she is some sort of a chance in the big field. Danzamonkey is next best with some good form up north.

Not a bad days racing, with my best being Simplest and Moppett and good eachway chances to Notre Amour and Slim Pickings.

I think ill be only looking at a few races here in brisbane today. Really like Double or Nothin, thought if it keeps its latest form up it should be winning this. Regal Castenea just looks to keep improving. Didnt want to be on it with anyones money coming round the turn last time and it still managed to kick past them in the straight. Jazz heart seems the value runner in race 6, in a better sized field should be able to sit back and charge home like we have seen it do before. On the Fridge with the lightweight and working its way through the grades will definitely be one to follow.

Looking forward to watching some good racing in the other states today . Would be happy to see Kibbutz get up at 100-1
