Hello everyone,I would be grateful if anyone had any ideas on tackling Flexi trifectas. Are there preferred races to target also the staking for me is difficult, number of horses and amounts to bet.As a small $10 punter should i leave well alone.Cheers

ubetido,
i think novice means those trifectas where you can bet small percentages of the winning payout so you take lots of combos for a small amount...i believe the nsw tab runs them...cheers, noel

My personal opinion is that you should not bother with trifectas unless you can first make a profit on win and/or place betting. The TAB takes about 5% more commission out of the trifecta pool than it does out of the Win/Place pools so there is an extra disadvantage to the punter. The best value in Trifectas seems to occur when you have a short priced favourite that is unplaced - unfortunately you can go for a lot of races before this happens so you can have a long run of outs which can be frustrating (and costly) for anyone. Far better to concentrate on win/place betting where you will get regular wins whilst you aquire the skills you need.
