Default How good are Essendon?

They looked very good to me when they defeated Carlton. If they have a decent run with injuries and continue to play Lloyd at full forward I reckon Essendon will have a pretty good chance of making the finals. As for Carlton, third premirship favourite in the betting? You've got to be kidding!

Courtney Dempsey I thought was very good in this game, finally showed some glimpses of what the club has been saying about him.

I am a lifelong Bomber supporter aswell, I just hope they can back it up next week, and not do what most clubs with young kids do, and that is think that the job will get done again, rather than doing it again, hence Adelaide in round 2. Kids are pretty much up and down, so hopefully if they can play similar football consistantly they may just be a hcance for the 7th or 8th spot in the finals.

I don't see what all the fuss is about Lloydy either, so what if he is played up the ground, you can still have Lucas back near the goals. Lloyd definately covers the ground better than Lucas, yet they dont whinge about him playing to far from goals.

Lovett is playing better more consistant footy, and I wish more of our team showed the approach of Davey, he is an awesome talent.

I think in 2 or 3 years we should be back up the top 4, until then, we can expect a few games just like the one Saturday night.

Bottom line is if Fevola kicks straight Carlton wins by 3-4 goals. Essendon played as well as they could and Carlton were far from what they had shown in the first 2 games - their tackles were well down.

Essendon's best finish will be about 10th.

Saying that I have to agree that Alwyn Davey is playing great football and certainly shows endeavour a lot of other players could learn from.
