Race discussion (with an interest in speed ratings)
Hi to all. Is there anybody interested in exchanging views about upcoming racing.
I make my own speed ratings and combine them with video study & some other form factors. I am not much of a weights student but am a keen 'profiler' of feature events (lead ups, types of horses that win specific races, etc.). I tend to specialise in Melb & sydney metro class meetings but also do feature interstate meets like eagle farm this saturday. I am relatively new to this forum but have read some very good posts from some members in past threads... and some very unproductive ones. I suspect it will be with people of not dissimilar processes that would probably lead to the the most fruitful discussion. Various input is of course always welcome. Does anyone keep/make their own par/average times for sydney or melbourne metro tacks. I make my own speed ratings and keep my own database from which I calculate par times. I would be interested in comparing my info with anyone who has similar info as I have found much can be achieved by such an exercise and am always looking to keep my ideas open. Anyway leave a message on this thread if anyone is interested or send a message to my inbox. Regards |

I have been using my own ratings systems for some time now with pretty good success rate. I would be interestd in sharing some info as i am keen on improving my strategy. I look at trainers also in order to gauge what horses go well in distance/sprint events under certain trainers. in the next few months i think we will start seeing serious spring contenders come out for a freshen up run to keep them ticking over-interesting time to watch and not necessarliy be betting
