hi there
is there anyone in this forum who is cluey with downloading information that one requires and then that information be used in a formuale to give the outcomes. So for example if one wanted number of starts wins and placings and had a formulae to save time to enter this individually it could do the whole programm. I suspect i would need a programmer i am only limited in my knowledge of how to get the most out of excel etc. regards ubetido |

Hi ubetido,
I am by no means an expert with excel, so I could be wrong, but the number of starts, wins, placings, prizemoney would have to be in individual cells to create a formula to autocalculate percentages etc. The problem with importing web form, is that a few pieces of data are all contained in the same cell and thus inhibits seperate auto calculations. If anyone wants to correct me here, I am open to learning as well. The only solution would be a program such as price predictor pro which imports the cyberhorse form and individually picks out the data. I guess a programmer would be able to do it cheaper, but I don't know anyone who would devote the time to it for a small return. I am currently looking at alternatives to PPP myself, as an initial outlay of around $750 (full program) plus $248 yearly subsription to cyberhorse is a huge whack to outlay in one go. you know over many years i have been where this argument leads e.g. all sorts of formulas and hard work and still the good prices elude you for various reasons.
the flaws i have found in trying to formularise racing is that most data is obsolete although it is mainly the only thing you have to go on. e.g. good horses like sports and others will win at big odds. they have good group 1 form won lots of money good percentages but generally hard to catch. flavour is another. but thats beside the point. i have a program written in perl that searches cyberhorse for a particular strength in the fields that i look for. it is hard to win much mainly due to my lack of discipline and my need to try to ba ck too many winners. is the picture becoming clearer. after many years of formulae, speed, times, weights i concluded there was only one factor that really delivered consistent winners. you can save yourself all that study. but to give the game away it is not what i want to do but i'll give a clue. makybe diva , british buska hardrada choisir media puzzle ra sun all had the common factor as did many of the horses that lost on saturday. its hard work isn't it. |

hi
what was that common factor topsy? Is it something your programme finds or can the information this common factor be found by checking with the eyes. regards ubetido |

in response to ubetido i dont wish to be secretive about my selection methods on this forum as it implies i am a good punter and know something that anyone else doesnt.
i certainly am happy to stay in front but i am not a very good bettor nor courageous. but i have had my moments. t i use my program to match a database that i keep it searches cyberhorse and matches. but the information is before our eyes. i recall backing piavonic against sunline at g1 level. piavonic won at $46 sudurka won the oakleigh plate $28 the information was in the form guide and no computer program was needed. only took me thousands of man hours and 20 years to learn to read the guide. except that i love my computer and studying horse racing. master park was an identical selection in perth recently. paid $26 |
