Systems and EI
Question for those who were operating systems back when the EI struck.
Have been doing some more system testing, and have found that the period just after EI, into early 2008, the systems all performed poorly. However from April onwards have found that my systems have performed to the expected level. Was there a noticeable difference away from the norm for others who were betting systems back then, or is it simply just variance in my systems results? |

EI??
Thorns
I have no idea of what the EI is. But I offer an observation. I just finished back testing the 107 free systems with Bet Selector. I had that running on one computer while I was merrily working away on the other. The systems ran from the latest date 30 Dec09 to the earliest 1/10/07. a good potion of the systems ran in profit more than three quarters of the testing and then died in the last 6 months. Retesting them for 12 months showed them very profitable. I did also note that the systems in general were very cyclic. Few got in to profit and stayed there consistently. Beton |

Hey Beton,
EI was the equine influenza that pretty much shut down NSW racing for a few months, and also had its affect on other states raacing as well. So was wondering if after the return to racing after this period were there I guess you could call "odd" results to racing. I can understand the cylicaly nature of some systems, just found it werid that so far my systems had been profitable on every month apart from the 3 months after EI. Cheers |

Aha!!
Thorns Hello
Alright I plead stupidity. But that could very well explain the results that I observed. The effects of EI was traumatic at the time. Selecting a winner is all based on history. And that history has to be stable. It would have taken some time to stablise. Regards Beton |
