Wink Might be Interesting?

Over the past 3 days if the following system had been bet:

1) 6 to 10 runners.
2) All runners with a minimum of 3 career starts.
3) Identify all under $20 in Don Scott's market.
4) The (under $20) selections must not exceed half of the field.

So if there are 4 selections the field must not be less than 8 runners.

Over the three days there were 14 winners from 17 qualifying races which comprised of 54 selections.

Betting with Unitab divvies the return was $55.80 for a profit of $1.80 or a POT of 2%.

Betting with Betfair S.P. the return was $59.19 (includes their takeout) for a profit of $5.19 or a POT of 9%.

I have looked at this system on-and-off whenever the interest held me and it wasn't unusual to strike a double-figure winner, even with Unitab.

If anyone's interested, today's selections are:

Rocky
1/3, 5, 8
3/3, 4, 5, 7
4/1, 3, 5
5/1, 5, 7, 8

Hawkesbury
2/3, 8
7/1, 5, 7

Pinjarra
1/5
7/1, 2, 3

There are 23 selections.

Great to see another MichaelG idea grace the systems forum!

Thanks MichaelG, I hope it wins a stack, or at the very least provides the forumites with a solid platform to work with!

Michaelg, this is a sweet idea.

Rocky race 1 is a non starter though due to previous form? Just as well.

Hi, TWOBETS, your'e right - it's a no race.

In spite of that the method lost $3.31.

I'm not too sure what to do with horses that are resuming from a spell because they're not too well-treated in D. Scott's market. There's been a few of these winners when I was testing periodically but were not selected because of their long prices with D.S. There was one such race today (Rocky R5 no.2).

What to do...???

Not a bad day.

On Betfair S.P with $5 bets a profit of $14.24 was made.

I made a mistake by confusing Geelong and Wyong R2. If I had been more careful I would have seen that Geelong R2 was the qualifying race and that the selections were nos 2, 4, & 9 (the trifecta) for a Win profit of $11.22.

Still, I can't really complain but it is disappointing.

MichaelG

I have been playing around with DS Odds for quite a few months now, Not sure if you are keeping records of past races on a spreadsheet or database, but as a matter of interest shorten up the DS Odds Criteria from 16 to 20 inclusive, it has improved my selections quite considerably and also reduced them.

Hi, Pete.

No, unfortunately I haven't kept the records on a data base or spreadsheet, because I wouldn't know how to do so. I'm not ashamed to admit that my total computer knowledge is almost zero.

I'm not too sure what you mean by shortening up the D.S. odds criteria from 16 to 20 inclusive. Is this only betting horses that are shown at a price of $16 to $20 in his market?
