Whoever is the writer of "Punt To Win" is clearly very keen at having digs at racecallers, tipping services, media experts etc etc. Any perceived errors in judgment or incorrect comments by these people are quickly swooped on by the esteemed author and we the readers are advised that these dopes comments are not worth a cracker.

Well, at least their comments come without cost. I can take them or leave them. If I chose to pay for a tipping service such as that run by the experts at Pro Punting I would expect expert information and sound factual analysis. One problem. This self proclaimed "know it all" reckons Vo Rogue won a Cox Plate. Anyone with kindergarten level racing knowledge knows the horse never even ran a place in the race.

Who's the ill advised ignoramis now.

Glass houses and stones comes to mind.

Easy on there Hammers.

I agree with Propun on the ridiculous comments made by racecallers and the other points they raised in their latest edition. Most of them are hopeless when it comes to a decent knowledge of racing and form analysis.

In saying that, I do feel that the continual reporting of these things and criticism of callers in every single Punt To Win issue is a bit tiring. Surely there are other things to write about that will help educate punters???

As far as Vo Rogue is concerned...I would expect that such a mistake should not be made but at the end of the day we have all made them at some time. Making a mistake does not mean you are not qualified to comment on isses the way Pro Pun does.

Some valid points but not too sure about the tone. Take an asprin and have a lay down

Thanks for pointing out the factual error, Hammers. A slip up there because Vo Rogue twice won what some have suggested should be marketed as the "Cox Plate of the Autumn" in Melbourne - the Group 1 Australian Cup run at Flemington.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall that Vo Rogue was favourite for the Cox Plate and was scratched on the morning of the race because the track was not firm enough.

Hi "osulldj"

It's a valid point you make about "the continual reporting of these things and criticism of callers in every single Punt To Win issue is a bit tiring. Surely there are other things to write about that will help educate punters???"

There are updated stats each week and we did comment on Heavy tracks and the Stradbroke prepost market this week.

However noone else to our knowledge regularly analyses the comments of racecallers etc.

Our site is the only counterbalance for punters who are led to believe these people are form experts, as I was, to my cost, in my novice days many years ago.

We help to dispel betting myths which are propogated by the BIG MONEY RACING MEDIA. This must help punters.

Maybe, just maybe BIG MONEY RACING MEDIA will start employing people who have an expert understanding of form analysis, betting markets etc.

Our comments attract a very large following. There are many readers who look forward each week to see if and who we are having a go at.

Also don't be surprised if there are people in the racing industry having a quiet chuckle as they see us taking someone they know to task.

That's fair enough Neil.

If anything, after hearing the same things over the weekend I find myself reading and totally agreeing with your judgement on the worth of the comments. There is no doubt

The comment that went something like "9 out of 10 times if a horse doesn't move in betting it will run a mighty race" had me on the floor in stitches

Someone has to report the truth and balance the garbage these so called experts continually trot out.
