Hi All,

As this is my first post, I'd like to say a quick "hello", and thank you for some very interesting reading in recent months.

My question refers to a programme I'm considering purchasing, called Clockwork racing. Being very cheap (both myelf AND the programme) I was wondering if anyone had any experience with using it?

Ta,

Hello MonkeyInJapan,

as one of many around these forums that have been burnt by what seems a wonderful program, you should really ask yourself a few basic questions before purchasing.

I am assuming that Clockwork is a program that claims to be able to pick winners?

First thing to do is to get a list of recent winners... many programs have wonderful glossy brochures which have results that can be up to 12 months old... Get recent results.

Ask them if you can pay from profits.
Ask them if you can follow their tips for a period of time... A sort of testing period.

Ask them what sort of guarantee they offer.

Ask yourself, and them, why they are selling "the keys to the kingdom".

Finally, if it sounds a little too good to be true, it probably is.

There's some interesting reading on the propunter website at
http://www.propun.com.au/betting_systems.html

My final word of caution... be wary.

Cheers,
Chris.

Thanks for the advice stebbo. I don't think the programme recommends winners, but rather it highlights the strengths and weaknesses of horses in each race. The software is $35, and each meeting's data is about $1. For that price, I thought I would check it out.

The reason I thought it sounded OK is that it's difficult to judge class in meetings outside my "area of knowledge". For example, I'm confident when I compare runs in Moe and Werribee in Victoria, but I have little idea of the form from Wyong compared to Canberra. I'm looking for a programme that would help me rate horses from different meetings.

If anyone has used Clockwork, I'd love their opinion.

Money talks & it usually says "Good bye".

Don`t be upset if Clockwork ends up being just a Crockworth.
