Does anyone know where the latest news is on the merger proposal or an update of the current situation at this point in time ?

The merger has been given the green light by the ACCC.

It's only a matter of time before we have "OneTab" in my opinion.

There will be benefits and drawbacks.

We will lose the best tote option with bookies.

The tote will be more stable, as bigger pools will mean that large bets will have less impact on the divvies.

Those interested in Pacing and Chasing will be more confident of getting a reasonably close dividend rather than a dog showing $8.00 at the jump but receiving $1.80 after it wins!!!

The TAB will be able to dictate and change rules and percentage takeout - that's not a good thing.

The latest news hot off the presses is that The board of Unitab has recommended that shareholders accept the TAB LTD offer of $4.50 which is higher than Tabcorp's last bid.
