The David Hayes trained ELEGANT FASHION, the 2003 Hong Kong Derby winner, is my top pick. Should settle better than midfield and prove a bit too strong in the run home.

The lightly race 7YO and much travelled PAOLINI looks a good chance. Ran 3rd in this race last year and looks back in form.

LUCKY OWNERS the 2004 Hong Kong Derby winner and winner of 6 of last 8 starts also a strong chance.

The John Size trained RIVER DANCER should run out a strong 2000M and is my pick for 4th.

From what I have seen of these horses I think Paolini is a great chance in this race with Lucky Owners the big danger.

Very well done Paddy. Didn't even consider having an investment on Hong Kong until I spotted your thread.

Winner started at 57/1 and reportedly there were 40,000 stunned race fans.

I'm sure there were a few more in our neck of the woods, but for a very different reason.

Thankyou Paddy!!!

PS I wouldn’t expect too many more accolades Paddy, I’m sure most of our many forum “experts” will think it was just a fluke

I certainly don’t pretend to be an expert but I must say Paddy, you seem to make a habit of fluking some good winners. Thanks Paddy for your continued input.
