TabLtd (NSW TAB) System - I have broken down the results into two sections. Those from 5 to 7 points, and those 8 points-plus. They cover the period from Thursday 29 April to Thursday 13 May. There were two selections on Friday 30 April: a winner paying $3.30 and $1.30, and a placegetter paying $1.50, but unfortunately I did not record the points so they have not been included in the figures shown below.

5 to 7 points category. There were 31 selections. 6 winners for a return of $24.60 which is a loss of 17%. There were 18 placegetters for a return of $29.10 which is a loss of 3.5%.

But when we look at the 8-plus pointers, there were 11 selections. 8 winners for a return of $22.90 which is a profit of 108%. There were 9 placegetters for a return of $12.60 which is a profit of 14.5%. The above figures combine system selections, Maiden selections and rain-affected selections - all categories showed a profit. However, 11 selections are too few to assume with any confidence that they will continue to perform successfully. But it would stand to reason that the greater difference in points between the first and second selections the greater chance it has - that is, if Tabltd ratings are worthwhile. To date, this seems true. Only time will tell.

No Unitab System selections today.

Two Tabltd selections:
Townsville R7 no.5 - Snick (5 pts)
Albury R2 no.1 - Curragh Prince (7 pts)
Two Slow/Heavy selections:
Sale R7 no.2 - Contend (5 pts)
Sale R9 no.2 - Our Dixie Girl (5 pts)
Two Maiden/2 year old selections:
Townsville R4 no.1 - Southern Spur (8 pts)
Coffs R4 no.2 - Igotthelaststone (8 pts)

No selections for my system.

Hi, Breadman.

Sorry to hear you are losing - it was a terrible day. The only good thing I can say is that the two 8-pointers were not in the system proper - one was a Maiden and the other a 2 year-old. Hopefully today will be better.

I was testing another system on horse racing which did quite well for a short period of time and then crashed. I tried to identify horses that would be leading or be close to the lead on the home turn.

Hoping it might work on trotting and pacing because by my reckoning (I know very little about trotting) it is more difficult than horse racing for a horse to pass another one in a race because a trotter has to effectively overtake two horse-lengths: - the sulky and the horse itself - while only one horse-length in galloping racing. And the trotter has less time to do it because the home strait is shorter than in galloping.

Anyway, I began testing the system from Wednesday 5 May. The results to yesterday, Thursday 14 are:
31 races for 23 wins. The profit is $10.60 or 34% POT. There have been 30 placegetters. The profit is $5.30 or 17% POT.

Obviously the majority of them are odds-on which is a turn-off for many punters. One or two losing bets could put the system in the red. But in an earlier posting you stated "small fish are sweet" which I would assume you don't mind betting odds-on. So if you, or anyone, wishes I can list the selections here.

Hi Michael,

Yeh well that would be worth a look at i guess. Im not really one for odds on betting because i used to train pacers. And i know of quite a few people that refuse to win if their horse is odds on. But would would like to know the selections and i might be able to help you out through some inside connections that i have in the game. Anyway look for wrd to that. P.S where do you get the time to do all this??? Take care mate.

Regards

Breadman.
