Hi all,

Everything is a bit quite now until spring rolls it's magic around again. So until then...

I have spent a bit of time trying to find a simple method of raking in a bit of cash for forum members who are prepared to put in a few hard yards in front of the TV looking at race prices.

When the price of the 2nd. favorite is $3 or more than the favorite at the 5min./2min. [whatever] to jump, the favorite becomes a win bet.

I have only done this for about 6 days over the last 7 weeks [not my cup of tea sitting in front of the box all day] and it ain't half bad in the profit department.

I would love to hear from anyone who puts in a day in front of the box with this method and how they went [real or pretend bets] to see if there is something long term in this for members.

I like to see you lot winning !!!

Cheers.

Crash,

You'd have to be selective...

Selections: 2,502
Return: $2,168.20
Loss: -$333.80
LOT: -13.34%

Place Return: $2,314.90
Loss: -$187.10
LOT: -8.08%

Thanks Chrome.

Well I did rule out all races on tracks worse than dead and the other usuals for me [maidens, 2yr. olds, 1000m. races, fillies and mares, and Cups races], so I was being selective there.

I didn't mention these personal filters because punters seem to have their own opinion regarding wet tracks and what races to follow/filter out and will usually do so to suit without prompting.

Still, there is food for thought in the approach I have presented. Something to mess with at a slow time of the year.

The $3 rule is of course variable to suit depending on the level of action required. Below $3 though would be definite loss territory. Filters will create a very different outcome to the 'all races/all condt.' raw stat. results.

I did quit well over the days I tried this method but I wasn't following every race day and certainly not enough of them to draw conclusions about this punting method.

I don't know if you can re-run your figures throwing in a few filters [?] but it would still be good to hear some personal results from anyone giving it a go and also details of what filters [if any] were used.

Cheers.
