Interesting race is DUBBO race 5 and Prince Billy ,
The trb has it a 11/8 chance
Warren Block has it a 4/1 chance
Inracing a 11/4 chance.
Myself.I wont bet it because of the dead track conditions but interesting nonetheless.
Cheers.

Perhaps those shorter prices have something to do with the guy in the saddle!

Which brings us to another topic.
DOES THE HORSE MAKE THE JOCKEY OR THE JOCKEY MAKE THE HORSE?
Ones things for sure I would not be taking 11/8 on a dead track.
Cheers.

DD,
yeh interesting runner. Where will it settle, on the pace? First run over the distance. I see it was near favorite at Wagga against Takeover Target(did nothing), improved last start. It's only had the 4 starts, well worth a look.

darkydog,

An interesting topic - the jockey or the horse?

For what it is worth here are my thoughts...

With the exception of a few cases (apprentices, first ride on horse), I tend to treat jockeys as pretty much a non-essential criteria in selecting a horse. I honestly believe that a jockeys performance is too a large degree influenced by stable alignments.

Some will argue only good riders get to partner with good stables, but I believe that most jockeys can look like champions on the right conveyance.

So for me it is horse first and jockey second.

Cheers,
Luckyboy
