There is a system around with this being the only criteria.

Well they are both very convenient systems in this rat-race,pace world we live in.
Wouldn't take too much study to come up with the days selections.
I don't know whether the profitability would be in the positive direction,but hey,it's your money.

According to an old man that i met in the seventies this was a system that had been popular in the 1950s.
The actual rules were that you work your way up the prices, starting with the favourite, and the first horse in the race with R as the third letter of the name is the selection.
As I recall there was a severe recoupment staking plan which relied on there being at least one winner per day.
