Default AFL Stats

How can statistics from the past help predict the outcome of a game?

E.G. A game between Geelong and WBD

In the last 3 years they have met 6 times and Geelong have won 4.

I think some stats are helpful and others are not.
The Dees havent beaten the Cats at Kardinia Park for abot 30 years.Thats a handy stat to know.
North have only lost to Power once since they came into the competition.
Some teams match up well against teams that are often higher placed than them on the ladder.
Swans have a pretty good recent record against the Lions so I think it gives you a gauge of how a team may stack up against that opposition.
